Hardly a big deal mouse gets into manufacturing process, I haven't tried mouse, but have tried roast rat in the far east and that was delicious.
But don't let that stop your friend wanting compo. Perhaps one of the ambulance chasers can get your friend a few grand for emotional distress and fear of returning to the supermarket.0 -

On here, just as with any forum anywhere, you will only get support if people are of the opinion that support is appropriate.
In the case at hand, Sainsbury have done far more for your friend that they are legally required to do.
A tin of Sainsbury basic soup costs 30p so they have offered approximately 165 times the purchase price in compensation and your friend expecting "a lot more" than this is just taking the pi55.0 -
OP, in a nutshell, you're not entitled to anything for something that could have happened, only for what did happen.
Your friend didnt eat it, they weren't sick, didnt have to take time off work, didnt suffer an illness or disability because of it.
So if your friend thinks this is a way to make a few hundred/thousand...they're in for a major disappointment - as in these circumstances they're entitled to a refund for their "faulty" product and nothing more - which is less than £1 so £50 is a fantastic offer in the circumstances. You keep using that word. Thanks for that Shaun! I've added it to my Amazon wish as my 4 year old is learning to read. :T

With regards the £50 offer, I have no idea how much money she is after. That is a personal decision for her.
But once the shop has the evidence..I seem to remember supermarkets have a habit of losing contaminated food that is sent to them.

Internally, I'd imagine the shop will loo at the suspect item and first tell if it is a mouse foot, or just a bit of gristle/leaf stem. Then if it is contamination, they'll give some serious bollocking to the supplier who made it, and they will face the consequences, making it unlikely to reoccur0
