Virgin Media Offloading ADSL Customers To Talk Talk

Apologies if this is old news but I hadn't heard about this until yesterday ... although now that I have googled it I have found some articles relating to it.

I received a phone call from a Virgin Account Manager yesterday to say that as an ADSL customer I would be transferring to Talk Talk because Virgin have terminated their contract with BT for the use of their unbundled phone lines.

Since I am in Virgin Cable territory they have persuaded me to opt for that instead (phone + 50mb/s broadband) and so keep my email address and phone number.

I thought it a bit of a dodgy tactic to simply cold call with this information and then start the cable sales pitch. It would have been rather more civilised if Virgin had emailed all their ADSL customers first to put them in the picture and give them time to consider their options.

I am having a major headache with this, you are lucky having cable, the selling to talk talk is causing a lot of grief due to lack of communication as it looks like a done deal.
