Speaker cable - Advice needed!!!!

Buying a stripper? whos birthday is it? Just use some cutters or a knife run round the caseing not cutting the wire and twist the end off.
Personally I would buy equal lengths, if you find you get a delay it will annoy the hell out of you more than if your speakers are positioned incorectly. Think about it if you need to replace the 6m cable with 12m cable you need to buy 12m not another 6 to stick on the end. same with the rears you don't add another 3m to the 10m you buy another 13m. uncovered wire oxidizes over time and condictivity reduces that is wy you dont join wires.
Again with the stereo wires you get what you pay for with interconnects the cheapies of ebay will have little if any sheilding so you will need to be carefull when it comes to positioning them. I know people keep saying buy cheap I have bought cheap and replaced with better and you do notice a difference get off to a good start and you save money in the long run.0 -

I was thinking of just buying 3 of them.. that way I can just move the control center and sub and the speaker wire will all fit as is..
That shouldn't make a great difference right?[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]"The internet is a great way to get on the net."

I've bought some cables from cable universe before and been impressed by them. They sell good quality stuff at good prices0

The signal travels in the wire at 300,000,000 m/sec, approximately.
Let's say you made one speaker wire 10m longer than the other. The signal gets delayed by 33nSec, thats 0.000000033 seconds.
The speed of sound in air is approx. 300m/sec, so that's equivalent to you moving away from the centre point between the speakers by a distance of 0.01mm. You obviously have much better hearing than me :-)
There are reasons why mismatched lead lengths *might* alter the sound. Delay is not one of them.
Some fat two core mains lead is usually cheaper than anything thats says 'speaker' on it, and you'd usually struggle to tell the difference. Do get the polarity right though, your speaker won't care but your ears will.0 -

A bit late to post this as you've already sorted your cable out but there's a lot of info on CAT-5 cable for speakers.
If I haden't spent £££ on Monster THX stuff for my home cinema, I'd be making these at a fraction of the price. http://www.tnt-audio.com/clinica/diycables.html0 -
Seems a bit too complex for me. I mean, trying to do my CISCO CCNA, while working, is stressful enough[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]"The internet is a great way to get on the net."
