If it's a warning light then it should be ok to drive. My dh always tells me that orange lights need dealing with soon, whereas red lights should be dealt with immediately.
It's a bit of a pain that this has all happened at once, right at one of the most skint times of the year, but good to see you finding the positives in the situation. Sounds as though you've got it all in hand. Not giving up

Yeah it's driveable but only at 30mph, it won't go any higher as it goes into self-preservation mode, and I have 10 miles of dual carriageway on the way to work! Otherwise I'd just try and ignore it for a little longer lol.0

Ah no.... Boo hiss to rotten timing for cars to break down. I feel your pain - I had one permanently conk out on the 19th December a few years ago. Hope it's sorted soon. Not giving up

The car is (hopefully) fixed, £40 labour. I do hope that's the end of it now!
Not much else to report to be honest, most of my bills etc have gone out already. Have 2 NSD's racked up so far and should have another tomorrow as no spends planned.
Just waiting for my shopping delivery then I'm going to try and have an early night. Ever since I went back to work, I've been really struggling with sleep. I always wake up 3 or 4 times every night for a drink (no idea why I get so thirsty at night) but seems to be worse this week and I'm taking ages to fall asleep. Roll on Saturday!0 -
Am now up to 5 out of my target of 15 NSD's, so doing well there.
Saturday I spent £10 in Marks and Spencer on a meal for OH and I. It was our anniversary yesterday but we kept it pretty low key, just a meal and a bottle of prosecco together. Yesterday we went for a walk and to a little local caf!, which he paid for.
I paid my Very bill to bring it down to £206. I also sent back one of the shirts I bought so once the refund for that is processed, that's another £45 to come off the total, leaving me £161 until I'm officially DEBT FREE!!!! Madness.
It's been almost 10 years since I first got into debt, and I can't believe that I'm almost out of it. DEFINITELY going to have a huge glass of wine (or whisky lol) to celebrate when I finally clear it. I still have next month to go though so not going to get ahead of myself, but it's exciting.
Had an email today about my breakdown renewal, it's due on the 8th Feb and is £32. I may shop around but I've been so, so happy with the service I've had from this company that I may just stick with them. However I had forgotten it was due so hadn't budgeted for it. I have £15 left unspent from my 'anniversary' mini-budget (which, to be fair, was £30), and may just take the rest from the unallocated £67 that I mentioned at the start of the month.0 -
Not much to report other than another NSD, up to 6 now.0

Just a quick update to say my refund has been applied to my Very account, so I now have a balance of £161 to clear. Edging ever closer!!0

I haven't updated for a few days. I've realised that as my debt gets lower I have less to contribute here. But on the plus side, I've kept to my targets for the month so far. And although I initially messed up my budget, I corrected it, and have stuck to it to a T :j I think as long as I set targets each month it'll keep me on the straight and narrow when I'm debt free.
So, am now up to 7 NSD's for the month which is fab, almost halfway there. Yesterday I went to a colleague's retirement do and only spent £4, which I'm chuffed with (such a cheapskate!). Off to see my sis today, she's just had a baby so bought some flowers. Have been for a 5k run this morning and OH is taking me for brunch somewhere we both love. All in all, should be a good day!0 -
Yesterday was quite nice, met my new niece which was lovely. OH went into a sulk for no apparent reason though in the evening when we got home which somewhat ruined the day. He honestly acts like such a child sometimes and there's no talking to him when he's like that so I just leave him to it. Hopefully he'll come back to grown up land today.
The weather is rubbish today, was going to go for a bike ride but think I'll pass and work out indoors instead. Have lots of cleaning and tidying to do as well, and may also start painting in the house. The kitchen and hallway are white but need a fresh coat and we got some emulsion yesterday so no excuse!
I'm off to Southampton tomorrow for a 3 day training course, so OH is on his own, so I want to make sure the house is tidy because he definitely won't clean up in my absence! Men... :mad:0
