Congratulations on clearing your credit card debt, the feeling must be wonderful. Reading diaries from people like you who have succeeded make me more determined than ever that I can get there.

Good luck cleaning your other Very account. Sure it won't take you long.

Thanks guys! This forum has definitely been a lifesaver and huge motivator throughout. Plus I'll still be here for a few more months, can't get rid of me that easily!!

Right, I've noticed that since moving house my spends are getting a little... Frivolous shall we say. Some of these purchases were needed, but some were definitely wants which could've waited. I have £250 in my house savings pot, and I'm going to add another target not to spend any of that now until December unless there's an emergency. I also want the rest of the weekdays this week to be NSD's as I've been a bit trigger happy with the internet browsing and buying recently too. Need to keep myself in check!

I forgot today couldn't be a NSD as I needed to buy a stamp and send a letter urgently. I used money in my purse left over from the weekend. Not the end of the world and not a frivolous purchase so I shan't beat myself up over it!!

Well my target for NSD's didn't quite work out, yesterday I did a little (budgeted for) Xmas shopping online, and also bought myself a book :o it's work related, cost £10 as I got a used copy not a new one. I used to ask for stuff like that for Xmas, and my dad bless him would always buy me a new copy even though I was happy to have a used one, so I decided to get it myself, save him the outlay and request a marginally less boring Xmas present :rotfl:

Today was meant to be horse riding but the weather is abysmal so they called me earlier to cancel. I'm actually not too disappointed as I wasn't looking forward to getting soaked! Need to go to Ikea, I have a £3 stool from there and want another one. I also might get a plant for the house and/or a lampshade. This won't be coming out of my household savings fund though, it'll be from my unallocated £20 per week. My sister is also coming round later and we're going to be naughty and have fish and chips - just chips for me as I'm veggie.

Tomorrow is volunteering all day, hopefully the weather will be kinder than it looks today.

A quiet weekend here, just what I needed tbh. Spent slightly more than planned in Ikea but still on budget. It was good to catch up with my sister and her OH too, it was a nice evening all in all. Volunteering was cut short as we had no riders, so I was only there for about 2 hours instead of 5. It got me thinking though, I really enjoy just spending time around horses, perhaps moreso than the actual riding of them. I keep thinking about getting a share horse for riding, but perhaps this actually isn't what I want after all. I still need to improve my riding regardless, but now I keep thinking to myself that perhaps in future I could get myself a little Shetland as a companion pony. I feel like that might actually be more what I want. Anyway, I'm just thinking out loud here being the little girl who always wanted a pony! :rotfl: But now that I'm almost debt free, it might not be so out of reach after all!

Today I'm working from home. I've had to take a break already as I'm getting frustrated with the staff I supervise... Gosh it's going to be a long week!! Moneywise there's nothing I need to pay out for apart from food and petrol towards the end of the week. Got some Xmas presents over the weekend, still more to get though. Managed to get 40% off at the body shop which is super handy too.

Right. I should really get back to work!

The end of the week and time to update. It's been quiet this week hence the lack of reports! Moneywise things are fine, the only problem I have is that I've overspent on the food budget, my old nemesis returns! :p in fairness we have enough meals and main nits and bobs to last till payday, it's just the small things which I'll need between now and then.

Been starting to step up the Xmas shopping but still not a clue what to get some people! Work was dead all week until today, it suddenly picked up which I MUCH prefer. It also means I should be in a position to finalise my professional qualification by this time next week if all goes to plan. That's been ongoing for over a year so it'll be great to finally finish.

Plans for the weekend are to meet some work colleagues for a walk and cream tea (yum!) tomorrow and on Sunday I'm riding first thing in the morning and then need a study day.

Hi Ena, the week is going well, work wise it's one of the best weeks I've had for aaaages! I haven't had much to update though in all honesty. I'm just plodding along waiting for payday on Monday. The good (or great) news is that I haven't run out of money, I actually have a surplus which is fantastic news for me!! That surplus is going towards paying for my Irish citizenship, which I aim to apply for in the next fortnight. Hope everyone is well as we inch towards the weekend!
