Haha that's hilarious, I do think that perhaps such extreme stinginess helps people get rich so perhaps that's why they do it!!0

Things have been a bit quiet over the last few days. First new mortgage payment has gone out today along with a couple of other DD's. Still waiting for the cheque to clear in order to clear my cc, should be clear by Friday I think, then I can make that final payment! I still have £500 in my moving fund, I'll need about £100 of that to fully clear my cc so should have a few hundred pounds left. I think I'll throw it at my Very account, but at the same time it's good to have some savings. I won't be able to save anything this month because of all the costs associated with moving and Christmas coming up, so I'll have to have a think.
Monday and Tuesday have been NSD's apart from petrol, which is budgeted for. The rest of the week should be the same. We're off to visit my parents this weekend for fireworks night, haven't been to see them for far too long so looking forward to that, although there's plenty of things around the house I could be getting on with as well! :rotfl:0 -
I'm really happy for you Hun.
Well done on the NSD's and enjoy the time at your folks x0 -
I was just searching this forum as I wondered what savings-based diaries there were on here, similar to the debt free wannabe ones... There really aren't any! I've never really looked at many others parts of this forum but am a bit bummed out that there's no little savings wannabe threads! Not sure what I'm gonna do now to try and keep track of my future goals0

Just stay on here - I still think the dfw board is one of the best on here. I think of it as keeping myself on the straight and narrow. There are a few savings challenges on here - emergency funds etc.Not giving up

My cheque cleared this morning so I've paid £3,176 off my credit card, leaving me with £125 to pay plus some money on my Very account. My new debt total is £633 :j
I'll clear the rest of my cc tomorrow and then decide how much to pay off my Very account. I have £600 in savings but want to keep a few hundred in my savings.0 -
That is absolutely fantastic. Huge congratulations :jNot giving up

Okay time for a financial update. I've cleared the rest of my credit card completely :j ironically the bank blocked my payment initially for fraud prevention purposes until I called them and confirmed who I was. It was ironic because they had no problem with the £3,000+ payment I'd made the previous day!! :rotfl: I also cleared some of my Very account, leaving £333 bizarrely to pay. I've planned to pay just over £100 each month so it'll be clear in 3 months. I could've fully cleared it but I wanted to keep £300 in my savings instead and try and start some good habits for the first time in YEARS.
This weekend has also been fantastic. Came to see my parents, and did some fantastic horse riding yesterday morning - it was so peaceful and just a really lovely ride out in general. Then we met up with some friends and took a boat ride out on the Norfolk broads, had a nice pub lunch too, and then saw a fireworks show in the evening. A really, really lovely weekend so far. Heading home later today, so will probably just walk the dogs and enjoy a nice lunch with my parents today.0
