Ryanair, how often do they change flight times?

Hi

When my OH and I went to Budapest, Ryanair changed our flight times. It wasn't disastrous in that it just meant we had to get up at 3am instead of 9am to go home, wasn't an ideal way to end the trip.

Looking at going to Krakow in Jan, but only from a Fri-Mon. As time is tight, we want to book a couple of tours. There are a *lot* of Ryanair flights listed from my local airport and I'm concerned they might change them again and we might have to miss something we've booked/paid onto.

Does anyone know how common it is for them to move flights? I really want to go to Krakow, but going with Ryanair is a big downer. My local airport is half an hour up the road, I don't fancy the M25 in the middle of winter early in the morning to want to fly from another airport with someone else, but considering it... :(

I've travelled lots with ryanair, and only ever had a shift of five minutes a few times. A flight with easyjet has just had its time changed by 40 mins. I think you were unlucky with a shift of three hours.

Had 8 or 9 flights with Ryanair over the last 3 years and only ever had one time change...this summer (both out and back) was brought forward by 7 hours. It suited me...but obviously such a 'major' change wouldn't suit you!

usually the earlier you book, the more risk of time changes as the far off months slots may not have been finalised. Not sure if Ryanair follow the same as other airlines who have a summer and winter timetable which switch over when the clocks change. I would think at this late stage there would be little chance of a major change.
Out of interest, the flight that was changed, how far in advanced had you booked it?

Not that I do it, as I am the eternal optimist,
but really any accom bookings should only be on flexible rates if times/dates are critical as airlines can change times up to 2 weeks b4 u travel, their only obligation is reroute or refund of fare

I've been flying with Ryanair 3 or 4 times a year at least, for many years now.

As a previous poster said, my flight changes have been few and far between but thankfully never more than 30 minutes.

As another said, more likely if you book well in advance.

Worth the risk imo OP :D

  • Thanks everyone, taken the plunge! Here's hoping no major changes. Paid an extra £20 each on the flights for the times we have selected instead of the crack of dawn ones. So any major change and I will want my £40 back that's for sure :)

It was between 5-6 weeks in advance.

Had 3 weeks in Spain in October. Our return flight was changed by 2 hours 10 days before out return day. I found out as they sent me a text message. Lucky I was checking my phone. A pain cos I had paid extra to check in online early from home. Happily the hotel reception re- printed our boarding passes.
