  • mothernerd such fab news. Well done you, you've obviously been looking after your leg just perfectly! I see you doing Zumba after your next appointment in a years time ;)

Today I am grateful for people making me think twice about what to do with things I find useless and thus waste, for leftovers making many new dinners, for Jellys new coat being super thick and warm, for the chance to get my op out of the way in 2014 and not to lose 3 days of pay in the New Year to recuperate!

Spend day, but for January and out of that budget thus. Shan't be around tomorrow but when I am back on my feet I will pop back in to see off the month.

Thank you Fmess for a fab challenge this month! Looking forward to a thrifty January. Already off to a good start with tonnes of YS veg today :)

Today is the start of a new era...

... OH and I have just bought a mattress together. We have used the £100 grandad gave us and are paying £20 each towards it.
Not bad, a new mattress for £20. Our current one is 13 years old and you can feel the springs digging in.
    :(

Thanks for the link whoever posted it (sorry am on phone so can't check). I had been looking at mattresses for a while but they are just so damn expensive.
    :/

Good luck for your op lilt.
    Hugs to everyone.

Glad to hear Mothernerd you are on the mend.

Good luck with your op. Lilt.

Stewby congratulations on new mattress, mine looks like Turin Shroud. When cover comes off - years of my daughters fake tanning

Wasted money yesterday drinks at Pantomime and bought some chicken breasts on way home. Plan a curry today and tomorrow. Never been to a Panto before it was funny but not sure I could endure one again. Grandson wasn't that interested in it.

Today trying for a sfd, long walk planned and no eating junk food. Feeling sluggish with it all.

Have a nice day turtles x

    morning.

Just realised how over-dramatic that sounded. it isn't a big deal that we are buying a mattress... it's the fact that it will be the first expensive house thing we have bought together.
I already owned the house before OH came along so everything in the house was already here. He came with the usual (big tv, games console and a pc) but no furniture.
Thought I should explain the dramatics and why it is the beginning of a new era.
    :o

Not quite sure what the plan is today... probably will spend money as we are walking into the village. Still have some Christmas money I can use though.
    :undecided

Hopefully will manage to post again tonight. (doing a lot of bathroom readings and stuff like that to keep up).
    :p

    Hugs to everyone.

  • Fmess- Thank you so much for running the thread this month! :heartsmil

    My Goals for 2015 are:

    1. Moving home.
    2. Getting a place at University for a Masters course I would like to pursue which would lead to a professional qualification and much better future prospects.
    3. Save for September- University or alternative if I do not get a place this year.

    Small steps towards these goals:

    1. Negotiate a moving date for temporary move in January by 3rd Jan. Long term plans will be sourcing a longer term rent.
    2. Send application to the University by 7th January.
    3. Open a savings account and set up a standing order from January's pay by pay day.

Just to let you know that:
