Morning Everyone
Sorry I haven't been around much....It's been a rough few Days.....but I'm getting there slowly.....Just have to keep my spirits up and stay Positive!!
Haven't Potted much over the last few days....but this morning I am Potting £3.30....Which I certainly can't complain about!!0 -
Haven't been potting at all over the last couple of weeks -- accidentally splurged on a trip to London and went over budget, and lost £300 of income this month due to not updating paperwork
I should get it backdated though, if/when I do then I'll put as much as possible into the pot.
Just finished working 76 hours over 11 days in a row and I'm knackered, but going to sort out my flat today. I bought a scratch card and lost it, so I will find it today!! And if it wins anything then that's money in the pot, so fingers crossed...
Congrats on the new arrival and hugs to everyone who needs it
Also, a question for the terramundi owners: How easy is it to get bank notes out of your pot? There's a gorgeous terramundi at work, but I'm worried I'd end up smashing it to get my bank notes out and that's more expensive than my current sealed tins :undecided
On the positive side of things... Payday is on Friday!! :jSPC #0800 -
A Good Morning to you all, SPCers, and I hope today will be a good one for us all. They must have heard you and fulfilled your request, Modesty, set to get warmer from today, then cooler at the weekend and more Spring like next week!!!Good savings.
It's always lovely to see you, WER, and know you're keeping on the straight and narrow with saving. Great going with the £2....AND the £1 fairy droppings!!!! :j
You should be congratulated for stopping your OH's pockets from wearing a hole, JoJo, we need to be vigilant. :rotfl:
VERY good indeed, Donna!!
You did well, shangaijimmy, plus your OH got a lovely treat as well.rosyq wrote:Hi everyone
Real Life is getting in the way of me posting on threads so I'm going to bow out of most of them. I'll keep following your progress, and I'll keep potting and look forward to declaring with everyone else in November.
Thanks very much to all the virtual friends I've made on here, it's been fun, and you've helped me to save loads!
Thanks especially to Sue for this inspiring thread :T
Cheers

Oh dear, Rosy, that's quite sad, though I do understand what you mean as I'm struggling myself at the mo with family problems and hoping all comes out well. You take great care of yourself, enjoy your walking and we will see you in November! Any time you want to say hello, it'll be lovely. PS, have just read the lower piece on your siggy...how right you are, not sure whether to laugh or cry! :cool:supermum1988 wrote:I just got £25 credited into my bank account by way of an apology and to compensate me for 3 phone calls from Santander (total F-wits that they are). Going to pop £10 of this into my pot once I draw it out and £15 towards my Argos store card. Yay. Cheers Santander, the calls only cost me £3.
Well well well, supermum, looks like you did pretty well from their blunder...may they make more like that!!!! :T BTW, Of course you can retrieve money from your washer and pot it, no doubt about it.Chutney86 wrote:Thanks Sue, my savings will definitely help if I get in a jam :rotfl:
A great comeback line, Chutney, I like it, well done saving too!
Sounds as though you had a lovely Mothers Day, scotmumof3, and why not. It's lovely to know we're appreciated.
Don't ever worry when you're unable to come to the thread, Lizzie, it's not mandatory...well, not yet anyway! Some GREAT savings!
Oooh, you're getting so close now, Hicksy, I'm so excited for you, so pleased you're settled in now as well. :j
More lovely potting, Helen! Sorry to hear you're still feeling rough...any idea how long it'll take for you to feel much better?Miami wrote:Also, a question for the terramundi owners: How easy is it to get bank notes out of your pot? DON'T DO IT, Miami!!!!! Find something different for your notes as it'll be a he*l of a job if not impossible to retrieve notes from a terramundi. You certainly don't want to smash it so how about getting a pot from £land, the type you need a tin opener for? Be careful with your budget - and shopping sprees, the 2 don't go hand in hand.Have a super Tuesday, SPCers! Save well as and when possible!!

I don't put notes in mine but my bigger terramundi has a hole in the bottom which could get the notes out if you are careful, my smaller one has no holes in it at all....
I just stick to £1 and £2 coins and swop any notes into gold coins to deposit...I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Banking & Borrowing, and Reduce Debt & Boost Income boards. Sue-UU and Westie, I already have a 99p tin from the card shop (and before that, a £1 tin from Poundland) but the terramundi would look so pretty
I've noticed that coins tend to take up more space in my pot than notes, and I'm in the habit of emptying my bank account the day before payday so notes go in then (Had over £140 to take out the day before Jan's payday... I don't think the cashier would be happy if I asked for that amount in coins :rotfl:) and I tend to overestimate money required for food/bills so sometimes have a note left over to put in.
Sue-UU, I promise to keep a close eye on my budget. To be fair, it was the Harry Potter studio tour shop and I don't get to have a trip out with my best friends (as we're scattered all over the country) that often. Next one isn't until May, and that's surely justifiable as it's to celebrate my birthday?? :A
Getting back to the topic, I think I'll have to leave the terramundi. Ah well, on I can pot the money I was going to spend on it insteadSPC #0800 -

Started giving the flat a much-needed tidy and found a penny in an old handbag which went straight into the pot! Then I remembered I needed new shoes for work so had to stop and go to the shops, picked up a magazine while I was there and found another penny in the self scan machine
It might only be 2p going in the pot today but it's still 2p nearer my goal :dance:SPC #0800 -
40p for me today, found change in the little compartment in my car.Sealed Pot Challenge #0160

Terramundis are pretty but they can cause issues if you put notes in like I say i use my for £1 and £2 coins - something to stop me opening it as they are too nice to smash...I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Banking & Borrowing, and Reduce Debt & Boost Income boards.
