Disgusting
i have the same letter and cant find anything in the small print about it not being available if you have already had a trial
whats a section 11
So no more emails, phone calls, texts or letters.0 -
I don't know with what frequency you can take a trial but I've taken them up on it 3 or 4 times when I have made larger purchases and wanted next day delivery. Make use of it for a month, select not to renew ... never had a problem or a charge.
We have also been sent one of the "credit card" style offers. The card is in my husband's name, though he has never had an Amazon account.0 -
I was really concerned when I saw a letter from amazon prime this morning. I got worried I had taken out the trial by mistake by pressing the wrong button. I was glad to see it was just marketing.
Does anyone know where the option my account is to say you don't want any marketing post?0 -

I got one of these letters, as a former Prime Instant Video member, inviting me to try it again for 30 days for free. I actually do want the service, but for some reason they suddenly started to block content based on "Location Issues". So I followed the instructions and signed up thinking that they had fixed the "Geographical content restrictions", but found that this was not the case. I then found out that they had charged my credit card, despite the letter saying it was free. I was livid!!
So I contacted "Customer Services" and after much explanation got them to refund the charge. The customer service rep then blamed me for it, which made me see RED!! Firstly he blamed my computer for not having the recommended hardware and software, so I took a screenshot of the actual message on screen.
He then tried to blame me again for watching it while outside of the UK. After explaining to him that Northern Ireland is part of the UK and the letter Amazon UK sent was sent to a UK address (which can be verified on Royal Mails postal address file) he promised me he would get the issue looked at. He promised to contact me back regarding the issue within 4 working days. Despite 3 follow-up emails from me, I am still waiting for this guy to contact me. It has been 2 weeks now!
Has anyone else been presented with the above message?0 -
clivejo, is there any possibility that the ISP you are using has their server based in the republic of Ireland?0

My ISP operate in both, but my IP is static and geo-locates to Northern Ireland. I can watch iPlayer, 4oD, etc with no problems. In fact, I was a Video Prime member for 2 months before the content restriction message suddenly appeared. When I complained about it then they blamed my computer for it and fobbed me off.0 -
Just wanted to show you guys the letter. It clearly says, "try it again free for 30 days", yet they are charging for it!0

I received one of these recently as a former member but prompltly threw it away.
I remember looking all through the letter and on the card and, if I recall correctly, there was no unique info on either to use for this 'offer'. I.e. no offer code, no pass code or anything else. I treated it as the blanket marketing that it is and binned it.0
