EE lied and mis sold broadband to me

I took out broadband with EE about 2 months ago and they told me when they rang me about the broadband that they'd transfer me from BT and pay off whatever my remaining bill was ( i think it was about 8 months remaining) and on EE i would get cheaper broadband by 15 pound a month. It seemed a significant saving so I went ahead.
When I got the EE box for the first month it didn't work and it took 10-12 calls for them to fix it, in the end they gave me £25 off the next month bill. Now I have had the internet installed it struggles to load google, download stuff and generally has a low speed. When I spoke to EE about it they said they'd said an engineer out, the engineer who was from BT just came and slagged EE off saying no one is on 3G broadband with them round here and there wasn't much he could do to make it faster except upgrade me. This didn't help at all. On top of that I've now got a £300 bill from BT saying that I haven't paid the broadband but EE were meant to sort it all out. Overall I think they lied to mis sell me the package by telling me they would switch me and sort it all out and pay EE and secondly they haven't provided an internet which is useable and can't fix the resolution. I'm left with an internet which we don't use because its so slow and BT demanding money from me, if the speed was slow in my area I should have been pre warned. Can anyone help me with what my consumer rights are..am planning to write to EE head office

Are you absolutely sure that you signed up directly with EE? Did they call you or you called them?Yes Your Dukeiness0

Why would EE pay your BT bill ? Doesn't make sense at all. Do you have it in writing ? Have you cancelled with BT ?0

3G broadband ???
How could BT upgrade you if its an EE service ??
Is this poor speed on WiFi ??
What is your download speed when connected to the master socket ??0 -
Is this similar to the deal you signed up toStill in contract? Get up to £100 credit to cover switching costs. If you're in contract elsewhere and have to pay to switch, EE will give you up to £100 credit to cover your costs (excl call charges)
You have to pay your old provider upfront, then claim through EE within 90 days of your new broadband going live. You'll need to upload your last bill from your old provider to the EE site - it'll then credit your account within 60 days.0 -
Basically I got a phonecall from EE after I took out my new phone contract (iPhone 5c) with EE and they sold me the broadband. I told them and explained to them I had only just joined BT and I didn't think I'd qualify to switch but was told by EE it didn't matter.. for the broadband they told me they'd pay my BT bill off for me to switch to EE. If its the case of just getting £100 off or me paying BT this was not explained to me and I wouldn't have taken it out. I'm sure EE record calls and it was the same person who set up and took out the EE broadband contract for me..so shouldn't EE be able to trace this? I asked the EE how it would work and they told me they would do it all for me and I wouldn't have to do anything myself so I have no idea, but if the rep lied to sell me the contract isn't that illegal?.0

You have recorded proof the rep lied ??0

Obviously in the UK it's illegal to record someone without their permission so no i don't have a copy of the recorded conversation. But from what I have read by doing a google search EE are mis selling on a regular basis and it dates back to 2012, the complaints can be found on their fb page and a simple google search 'ee mis sold home broadband' and the search results speak for themselves. Finally I dug up a bit and on WHICH it states that now consumers have the rights to request the sales call/sign up and any info on their account in correlation to the data protection act? I'm going to write a complaint letter0

It's not illegal in the least.
It only becomes illegal if you allow other people to listen to the recording without the permission of the people who are on that recording.0 -

What about when their recorded message says This call may be recorded0
