Laptop not connecting to internet

Asus K55v stopped working this morning, it's via ethernet cable, have plugged in cable to old laptop in case it was that, no.... trying to enable wifi on th Asus, cant even find out how to do that!

So you've got 2 laptops, and you plug the ethernet cable into both of them and the internet doesnt work on either ?0 -
hmm, are you sure your internet provider is working OK, or it could also be a loose/faulty ethernet cable (perhaps been yanked on too much)?
For wireless do you have all your credentials to log into the router by wireless (router password etc)?

Well I'm on the other laptop ok, think wifi is switched on to other laptop but it says cant connect to network.0

Unfortunately I dont have windows 8 (I might have to upgrade to it if im to help on this forum :rotfl:) so Im gonna have to let one of the other guys take over the wireless setup part.
As the ethernet cable no longer working on the Asus but working on the other laptop (and no settings have been changed), it would suggest the ethernet port has failed but you should have no issue getting internet through wireless.0 -

delete the nic, from device manager > Network adapters, and reboot.
It should find your nic and reinstall the drivers again.0
