Never been to M&S

I live in Scunny but before that one opened I went to the one in Grimsby. It does have fresh and uncooked items but I think the thing is when you go on the website it shows the sort of party stuff you pick up ready to go. The day to day food isn't shown. For the value of your gift voucher you would get a lot of very nice fresh food over several occasions and their reductions are very good too.Solar Suntellite 250 x16 4kW Afore 3600TL dual 2KW E 2KW W no shade, DN15 March 14

Just buy clothes if you don't like the food! Or shoes.0

I'd either spend it online or wait till you visit one of the larger stores. Yes the little local shops sell a lot of ready meals, but the big stores sell loads of fruit, veg, fresh bread etc. you could easily spend it all and not buy any ready meals. You could also use it to buy Christmas presents?
As a side note I think you have a rather unfair view of m&s shoppers, I go there sometimes for a treat and to get reduced bread after work, I certainly don't consider myself superior or only eat ready meals!!0 -
My nearest is in a City centre, maybe have to travel to get it cheaper.0

Yes they do and I was amazed.
I was killing time just browsing on ebay a while back and, for eg, a £50 voucher had a high bid of £49.85 with free delivery.
Why the effort for 15p?:huh:0 -
Because you can't spend your paypal balance directly in M&S, and if getting it into a bank account isn't an option for some reason it's an easy solution/0

To get the max value out of £100 of M&S vouchers I would buy mens' shirts (pref in the sale), red wine (but NOT the dire Oudinot champagne), a cashmere jersey, meat, poultry, fish and seafood - not fresh veg or ready meals.
M&S is a triumph of marketing over quality - the Oakham chickens don't come from Oakham, there's no such place as Lochmuir and you won't find pure cotton mens' socks or pure new wool womens' jackets, skirts or trousers at all.0 -

I can't imagine why you think M&S men's shirts are any good. Nor why you dislike their ready meals. Whenever I have to make a trip to London (having no local M&S) I always make a point of hitting the M&S shop at whichever mainline station I'm travelling through, to grab a few ready meals. They are hugely better than the rubbish in most supermarkets.
Even M&S oven chips (as I saw someone else on this forum saying recently) are approaching edible- not something I ever thought I'd say about oven chips.0 -

Oakham chickens is just a trademark name for M&S chickens, at least they are fully traceable with the farmers name on each bird. http://help.marksandspencer.com/support/products-services/oakham
We all know that there is no such place as Lochmuir, its just name made for Marks & Spencers http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LochmuirI’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Competitions Time, Shopping & Freebies boards, Employment, Jobseeking & Training boards If you need any help on these boards, do let me know.
