Unarranged overdraft usage fee

I made 3 transactions the previous month that put my account into the red. (due do my online banking statement not updating quick enough but can't prove this)
I since have been paid and covered the above.
One month later I was charged £10 per unarranged transaction (the above 3) which made me go overdrawn again and was then charged £12 unarranged overdraft usage fee.
Can someone explain to me where I stand please?
Surely these are compounded charges?

Nope, got no advance notice of charges.
E.g. for Nationwide it's:(28 days' notice is given for overdraft fees however, this notice period doesn’t apply to the Monthly Fee).0 -

I do think it's a bit naughty that they charge a month later when all is forgotten and catch you out again.
But by the same token, you should have realised that there would have been a repercussion of you going into the red, and there were no charges at the time you did it - either you believed you got away with it (which would be a little naive), or you would have reasonably assumed the charges would come later.
If it is the first time you've done it, there's a reasonable chance that the bank may reverse the charges as a goodwill gesture if you talk to them about it. Don't blame them though because it isn't their fault. Even if your statement wasn't up to date, it's your responsibility to know what you have spent.0 -

I don't think it's naughty at all. The bank advises you shortly after the event that they will put a charge through some 3 or 4 weeks later, giving you the opportunity to have the money in place by that date (of course, you'll have to check your statements).
Several years ago, banks did not give advance warnings but put the charge through immediately after the event. That was naughty!0 -
quick question:-
30/10/2014 CARD PAYMENT TO NOWTV.COM/BILLINGHELP,9.99 GBP, RATE 1.00/GBP ON 28-10-2014
The above on my transaction on my statement, when will it have been debited from my account, the 30th or the 28th?
When should the 30 days notice commence from the above transaction (if the transaction put my account into the red)0 -

On your statement?
Which bank/specific account is it?
Santander.
I've checked my emails and the last one they sent me was on the 7th/10/14. Nothing since.0 -
My understanding is that they notify you about the charges in the statements:We will take overdraft fees from your account 22 days from the end date of the statement in which you were notified.
