Talkmobile £600 bill for 8gb data for my 14yr old

My dozy son used 4gb data twice on two nights. Probably dropped wifi signal and phone kicked into data. £300 and £350 bill to pay. Spoken to TM and not interested in my situation and parent company Carphone Warehouse also useless.
Feel aggrieved and not even a way of stopping it as if continuous data use then won't stop it despite limit on account. Also refuse to text me if Bill is large or text me bill to my phone.
Do I have anywhere to turn??
Advice please

Lots of ways of stopping it. Plenty of apps to warn you of data usage and even built into some phones.
1st app i install 3G watchdog. As soon as mobile data is active the app starts and an icon appears in the notification bar and it then warns you when close to your limits.

If it exceeded a maximum limit then you have a complaint. Why did they allow it to pass the max limit?

Teach your son a lesson and make him pay for it.

The bill is for you, not for your son. He can't have a contract because of his age.

14y.o. and 8Gb at night?.... I think he was dozy in the morning, not at night.

What limit? Only a capped contract has a limit. Tesco and 3 are the only providers that cap contracts.

Talkmobile was the only place to ask for a goodwill, but your only chance was to ask nicely, that I guess wasn't the case.

Yet another post - one of dozens - proving that most children and uncapped contracts are incompatible.

OP you would be better of paying for all you can eat data on PayG if you can get a 3 signal where you live

    http://store.three.co.uk/view/searchSimOnly?tariff=112

Its a very good deal being it PayG and your son would be able to down load to his heart's content.
AFAIK you can also use it in Europe at no extra cost.

Well, I was the one who trusted my son since he was 10 - and I have never had any problems. That said the 'smartest' phone that time was

so excessive data usage wasn't a problem. BTW, it was one of the first phones by HTC, a company almost unknown that time.

I think you're perhaps being a little hard on the OP guys, I mean, isn't £600 enough punishment? Still, I'd like to know in what detail he explained the costs of multiple webcams and video downloads etc, or if he even sought that info himself.

I had one of them, flashed a newer version of WinMo and kept it as a spare up until it completely died a couple of years ago.

Not entirely your son's fault if he thought he was using (free) Wi-Fi?

Perhaps you should improve your Wi-Fi coverage (eg install an AP or repeater) to prevent future expensive 'outages'.
