I don't count my pension contributions, but do include cash... Interest on my cash savings and additional equity in my btl property as I had the option to do interest only and take that as income...

Cars I expense in one go... And investments can go either way... But I. Or normally record them at cost and then revalue them every quarter or yearly....

Hope the above helps in terms of how you might potentially record savings.... Etc... But this is just my perspective...
My Goal: From 1st of Jan 2015 to 31st of December 2015 is to save 30000.

    48.78% towards 2015 target.

    105.3% towards 2014 target. :j

  • Thanks Slowlyfading for being such a star and organising this for another year. I will stick with my tradition, so I will be upping the ante by $1,000 each year to $15,000 of my dollars for 2015.

Therefore please put me down for £7,500 - thank you!

  • Hi SF, could you add me for this year too? Loved being a part of the 2014 thread.

I'm going for a conservative £12,000 to start with. We're not far off our mortgage deposit target now so will probably be looking to buy later this this year so won't be saving as much once that has happened (we intend to overpay on the mortgage as much as possible!).

  • Thanks for running this again SF, it's really helped me focus. I've just had an offer accepted on a little house so I won't be able to manage to save as much. Please put me down for £6000. Thanks.

Thank you so much for doing this thread SF. You have been a star. It has helped me to stay focused so would love to join in again for £12,000 in 2015. I am highly motivated by everyone's savings which definitely keeps me on track. Was brilliant that we hit the one million mark in 2014. :j Thanks again everyone. Keep up the great savings!
