EE Broadband MAC delay

Does anyone know why EE takes up to 5 days to issue a MAC code? Is this by any chance connected with the OFCOM rule that they must be issued within 5 days of a request? I'm certain they can be generated immediately. This kind of cloak and dagger approach is one of the reasons I am leaving EE. Any other similar experiences, or advice on how to hurry them up? Thanks, David.
