Hi People,
Here's my dilemma, I am halfway through my VM contract and just out of my 6mnths promo @ £19 and the bill for my phone and broadband has just jumped up to £31.49p . Just 3 days ago I received an email telling me my package will be going up by £3.64 in February 2015. I was just wondering would this hike in price allow me to switch to another provider mid contract without incurring charges or can i give 30days termination notice due to the charges being unfair in my opinion and try to setup with a new provider for when that 30days ends so i have minimum outage or am i just stuck paying till the rest of the 6mths end?

VM price increase letters usually have a bit on the bottom detailing your cancellation rights. It's usually 30 days from the date you receive the notification.
Contract law applies which has little if nothing to do with "fairness".0 -
Yes.

Well thanks for the comments peoples
muchly appreciate your time. I think i will give VM a ring tomoz and start the 30 day cancellation process.
Only trouble is who to sign up with for when the cancellation period is nearly up as i am a keen console and pc gamer with the odd bit of netflix thrown in for good measure! Any recommendations anyone?
I have only used VM, Sky non fibre and o2 before sky bought them which for gaming was actually the best line ive had @ only 5meg dl too.
I have looked at talk talk, EE, and plusnet but for every person that says that the provider is great, there is another that says they are the worst ever! lol with the exception of EE maybe.0 -
I am in exactly the same situation except that I have literally just upgraded to a new contract after my previous one ended, I have to say I'm blimmin furious with VM for doing this!!
Surely, if you sign a contract, they should honour that price!!
They did this to me half way through my first contract and I wasn't happy then, has anybody complained and had the increase cancelled?
I don't really want to cancel as VM are pretty good when it comes to broadband and price but just out of principal, an extra £3.99 a month when you have literally just started a new contract is taking the ****!!
Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated guys!Nice to save.0
