I've been to alldi this morning and bought some of the brushed cotton bedding. They had a lovely corn flower one, I'll let everyone know the quality when I put it on the bed this evening. They didn't have many double sets left in.November GC-£128.30/£200

Winter prep this week starts for me. Just took down the lighter curtains and up with the winter lined ones tomorrow. New bedding for this winter and a new duvet are set. I think the fans can be cleaned and put away for next year now!0

Hi all
I love this thread and am more a winter person. Winter prep starts today - I am going to clean my windows, order heating oil and clean out my car. I need some door curtains so I will have a read back through the thread as I'm sure someone has put on recommendation.

Sorting out the winter hat/glove/scarf bag in a moment. It was 3 degrees on waking this morning. In contrast it's nearing 20 degrees and beautiful sun now.
I have finished my kitchen curtain now. Just waiting for pay day in the middle of the month for the tracking to go up. The curtain cost me £1.87 for 3m heading tape and £5.98 for dark grey poly cotton facing. If you remember the double lining is a bed sheet from the airing cupboard.
I will make a duplicate curtain for the kitchen door in the coming months but I think the lining will be dark grey fleece because white/cream cotton will dirty easy trailing on the floor.0 -
Some winter prep started here today. I've cleaned out the wheelie bins, weeded/swept the pavement out front, cleaned my livingroom window, cleaned the brass on the front door and then decided to fill the cracks and drawing pin holes in the front door (inside and out) which lead on to me getting the sealant out and resealing around the front door. Problem is my sealant gun handle has just snapped so I need to go buy a new one.
I'm hoping to get it all sanded down and repainted/stained this week as its my quiet work week and the weather forecast is dry and getting warmer.
I just need to find the paint & stain

Does anyone know where I might be able to get an extra long door curtain from ? We have an old style terrace where above the door there is a window so the curtain would essentially need to be the length of the ceiling to the floor.
The only ones I can seem to find are 84" drop which isn't long enough?0 -
If you have problems finding longer curtains, you could always lengthen the 84 drop one by attaching a panel to the bottom in similar or contrasting coloured fabric of the same weight. No fancy sewing skills needed, and problem solved. One life - your life - live it!0

Sorry I completely forgot about this. The brushed cotton ones are lovely. They seem thick enough and are really soft. I'm pleased with themNovember GC-£128.30/£200
