Big expense out of the way today. We have had two new windows put in. The windows have needed to be replaced for quite some time and we are pleased to have this job completed before the weather turns, although it's a bit cooler here today.

Thanks happydays89- she has actually been spayed. I say semi-feral- she belongs to a woman living nearby who is overrun with unfriendly cats. My next door neighbour used to look after her and said one day she turned up with a scar on her side, so she has been done. My neighbour was looking after her but when she died the cat was very confused and lonely. She's very friendly but does not like being indoors and needs to get used to people."I don’t keep up with the Joneses, I try to drag them down to my level" - Quentin Crisp0 -
My electric oven has been on it's way out for a while now so I need to buy a new one before winter starts.
I don't have a microwave but I was thinking that I might get one. I wonder if it's cheaper to make hot drinks in a microwave rather than using a kettle.
I batch cook and it would be helpful to use a microwave instead of the hob to reheat lunches. Hmm, I might think about that.
I put the duvet on the bed last night but I woke up a little too warm this morning.
I was also thinking of swapping my living room curtains for blinds so I need to do that before it gets cold too.0 -

Sorry, lurker coming out of lurkdom to say I swapped and almost istantly regretted it! Have now got blinds and curtains as I had to put them back up as you could feel the cold coming through.

Have a look at the Panasonic combination microwaves, You can do anything in them you can do in an oven, as well as use the microwave for speed. They also have a combination setting you can roast a chicken in 40 minutes or so, spending on the size of the chicken. They are not expensive, but worth every penny I have had mine for 3 years, my previous panny I had for 8 years before it went phut.0 -
We also have a Panasonic combination microwave and use it as our main oven it cooks brilliantly I wish we had bought one sooner. As Deleted_User said it can roast chicken to perfection in 40 minutes.Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent
