I've got an aerator tap on my kitchen sink. I add a wee drop of washing up liquid to the basin and twist the nozzle to spray which foams up the washing up liquid nicely. It uses a fraction of what I use when the tap runs normally.7

I did the 'see how low you can go' trick too, it really is a winner. I've got little cheapo egg cups that I use as measures for the wash powder and the soda crystals. Depending what's being washed I use 1/3 or 1/2 of an egg cup and it's all good.I removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.8

I keep the powder in a big cereal dispenser (easier to manage than a box for me) I keep a tablespoon in the container with it and find that 3 tablespoonfuls works well. Plus a spoonful of soda crystals to soften the water stored in another plastic container with a spoon. (Those bags they come in can split easily!) Maybe this might be helpful for people who struggle with heavy items? Keeps it dry too, I once discovered a box stuck to the cupboard shelf after a spill from a nearby item which had gone unnoticed. The beautiful thing about learning is nobody can take it away from you.
Thanks to everyone who contributes to this wonderful forum. I'm very grateful for the guidance and friendliness that I always receive from you.

I bought a stone hot water bottle today too! Well, it's yesterday now. It cost me £1 at a car boot sale but will cost me more when I get it a sealing ring. The old rubber one is nearly as hard as the bottle, so it's good to know it doesn't have to come off!
We've put the winter duvet on now, I wore my winter coat to go out this morning (it feels weird after months without) and I've been making up boxes of kindling as we have a few trees that needed a pruning. One box needs to be set aside to dry but the other, from last year, can be used as soon as we need it.
All that said, the weather was absolutely beautiful and it was lovely to be outside.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
The sun's been out and I think I’m solar powered (Onebrokelady)

It was 15.5 in my living room this morning. The battery went in my thermometer today as well so I changed that. The battery did last a year as I bought it in September last year. I felt very chilly last night after sunset. I was on the sofa watching a film wearing my men's dressing gown and then I had a hot shower and afterwards got a fleecy blanket too.
I cleaned one radiator yesterday after I was vacuuming so I might do the others today and test the heating tonight. I bought quite a few autumn jumpers yesterday from a charity shop and I took down the boxes with all my gloves and hats and scarves for when I need them so I think I am quite well prepared.:)
I do need to buy teabags next time I do an online shop as we have had so many workman here this year that they have used up my stocks!9 -
I wonder what your work an would have said if yiu,d charged them Costa prices for their cups of tea?10

To clean the fluff from behind radiators if you put your hairdryer on the cool setting and give it a blast from the top all the fluff comes out the bottom it's easier than trying to get a feather duster behind,or using the vacuum, but obviously you have to vacuum underneath after you've done it
