Aww that's a good age. I must add there must be maybe 10 bought posh cat beds in the house along with tons of blankets but george likes his cardboard box and Freddie likes to sleep on the bed next to me in various places depending if I'm talking or kicking that night. He wakes me up when my blood sugar drops.Tink_04 said:Fiona my cat is 20 and I put a hot water bottle under a blanket In her bed for really cold weather! I do have a radiator bed for her but once the heating goes off I put her a HWB in there.
I've had pooshka in the house for a warm but his new blanket was very cosy in his bed and I stuffed some straw down the side and the box and put sticks in the gap in the hedge to cut down draughts.7 -

His blanket so far. I'm not a knitter.8 -
The blanket looks very cozy! Your knitting is very good and even, you'd never know you weren't a knitter.2025 Fashion on the ration

I might get back into knitting again… I am rather impatient though and have only ever learnt the most basic stitch. But I can make blankets!!
I saw a huge range of wool at HoBargs earlier this week, 99p each and in lovely colours, but managed to resist as I have several already that I got in an Aldi sale a couple of years back. So no excuse not to get started on a blanket.5 -
Picked a load of overgrown.knobbly climbing French bean pods this morning before the rain started to dry indoors over autumn for next year's sowing - a useful cost saving given the way price of seed packets has increased this year. Also saving & drying some seeds from our favourite flavoured tomato species. For anybody who hasn't tried this, just soak the seeds in a little water util all the mucus around the seeds falls away. Dry out the seeds on kitchen tissue pape, spaced out. When it comes to sowing time, just sow the seeds still stuck to the tissue paper if necessary. This will soon dissolve. Works every time! .13

With Igloo going under we are now waiting for news on our new supplier. Temperature definitely feels cooler today, both me and DP have jumpers on. It's very rainy here and there is no chance of getting fuel locally (queues are horrendous here) so we're staying indoors and stretching out our store cupboard for another week, so when we do get to the shops we'll do more stocking up to replace anything we've dipped into (mostly flour and tinned tomatoes as I made stew, dumplings, and Yorkshire pud a few times).

That's why I use 7mm needles and thick wool, you see results fast.jozbo said:I might get back into knitting again… I am rather impatient though and have only ever learnt the most basic stitch. But I can make blankets!!

Freddie was lovely and warm and slept great as it was like a weighted blanket. It was like a mat actually.7
