@Siebrie I have some Uggs which I wear as winter house shoes, they were an online bargain about 5 years ago. I also have some of Costco's Kirkland versions which again are about 4 years old. Neither pair are now fit to go further than the top of the drive on bin day, or the washing line / shed in the back garden, but they keep my ankles warm when wfh!2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

The BBC are seemingly banned from using the word Brexit. Quite funny listening to them trying to avoid it.

Weird things I couldn't get with my online order this week - greaseproof paper, cooking salt and mushrooms. Apparently there were 'not substitutes available'. Either the picker had absolutely zero imagination, or there's something very odd going on...2024 Fashion on the Ration - 10/66 coupons used

Definitely felt a bit chillier today, but only when i was sat still for a while. Had a jumper on then but still using the summer duvet.Tested the heating this afternoon for 30 mins, all fine. & set the heating timer ready to come on 30 mins before my alarm on workdays. But won’t be needing that for another month, hopefully two.Washed my woolly hat & gloves, sorted out my winter coats & filled a bag of clothes i never wear for the charity shop. Along with a few other bits & pieces. I’ll be going out tomorrow to buy some fleece jumpers I’ve been meaning to get for ages. Hopefully they’re still on sale in Go Outdoors. & see if I can find some fleecy tights, they’ll do for work. Definitely felt the winter prep starting today. A new 10.5 tog duvet is coming with my grocery delivery as well. The old winter one has long seen better days.6

This reminds me that I really need to get the boiler service booked! Must must must get it sorted out on Tuesday."You won't bloom until you're planted" - Graffiti spotted in Newcastle.

Hi guys
I must tell DS2 to get his boiler service booked. DS1 and his partner are extremely sensible and organised but DS2 isn’t so needs a little reminding at times. We’re all electric so are ok.
I must admit we’ve started eating less salad and more veg but mainly cos I’m bored with it.
I don’t need much winter stuff as I tend to wear layers but I could do with new boots. My Ugg’s are getting on a bit but I’ll wear thicker socks until I find a replacement. I doubt they will be Ugg’s this time though. I love them but not the price. My bootie slippers are getting a bit threadbare but again I’ll use thicker socks with them and hint loudly at Xmas. I’ll also make do with my duffle unless I need a posh coat for any reason. I tend to get vouchers for Xmas and like to wait until the sales anyway.
Around here odd things are short, I couldn’t get semi milk the other day so treated ourselves to full fat. At work we’ve had shortages in the deliveries and I think this could be a thing we’re all going to get used to. So my weekly shop will start to have odd bits towards Xmas. I do this anyway every year but will the important bits ( like stuffing and cranberry sauce away early) Some things just must be had 😀
I can’t believe the kids are back at school next week. This year is whizzing by.
Autumn is my favourite month with casseroles and crumbles and it’s reassuring to know that I’m organised.Keep posting please guys cos there’s bound to be something we’ve not thought about.
Night night

Making the most of the lovely weather today and getting the hats and scarves washed, I’ll do the fleece blankets we have on the sofas in the winter next.I can put the rest of my winter car box together then, already have drinks and snacks, paracetamol, calpol and plasters, a couple of little blankets for the children I’ll add a hat and gloves each too Incase we’ve gone out without them.5

My favourite thread! So far my preparation have been I bought a shawl off ebay. Its so long and warm, shaped like a v and lined. Not like an old fashioned shawl.
And embarrassing 😳 I bought what I thought were heat pads to lie on. The toppings are warm in my defence. New in packets from charity shop, turns out they are incontinence bed pads.10 -
If they are the cloth incontinence bed pads Fiona236 don't use fabric conditioner when you wash them, it rot's the plastic water proof backing. The joy's of having been a laundress in a nursing home I use to wash the cloth version daily, and for some reason they were called Kylie's.£71.93/ £180.007
