Thanks @greenbee. I’ve just asked for the same as what we have now, didn’t realise there was actually a point to the fence having gaps in it. Learn something new every day

I'm a rabid minimalist. My idea house is big rooms covered in deep soft pile carpets and hardly anything else. One huge deep comfy chair, one table (with a laptop onnit lol) and one cat. That's all

No carpets thanks Mar. I like hard floors with the occasional rug. Even in bedrooms - and with a flat weave and no pile. Underfloor heating is permitted though. And most importantly, opening windows. I hate air conditioned hotels with no opening windows. In fact, another bonus in the Nordics is hotels with hard floors and fresh air, however high up you are.8 -
As far as I can tell, it's all about everything in moderation, not having mountains of stuff, slowing down, living in the moment and the Fika thing fits in nicely.VJsmum said:I've been to sweden a couple of times - fantastic country. I'm very keen on Fika
I will look up Lagom, nargle - it appeals. is it quite like konmarie? One life - your life - live it!9 -
@greenbee, we plan eventually to build our own home, and underfloor heating, hard floors with occasional rugs and a lot of really good passive ventilation is all definitely part of the plan - but I also want just plain fresh air, I wan to be able to open the windows and feel a breeze!
We are lucky here, windows front and back of our small flat, and we have made insect-screens so we can have the windows open a lot. I can't understand how people can just have open windows with no screens! We just bought bridal net (much much smaller mesh than normal net) and use white blu-tack to attach them to our uPVC window-frames - dead easy, dead effective!2025 remaining: 37 coupons from 66:

I keep my windows open all year round as well, dont need insect screens because up here we only get the odd fly or bluebottle. I'd smother in a bedroom with a closed window
