Preparing for Winter V

I'm trying to prepare mentally for winter!!
Will be staying home much more so stocking up on books and jigsaws.
I'm in West Yorkshire so we have more restrictions..just wish people would adhere to them😁10 -
With various hospital stays this summer, we've had a couple of 16-17 day self-isolation stints, and it's actually been really useful, finding out what we do and don't miss, what we can eat instead, and so on.
Definitely working on finding a tiny bit more freezer-space if possible for home-made ready-meals as they turned out to be a really useful thing. The drawer holds 24 ready-meals (it's a fridge-freezer, less than usual depth as it's built-in), but if I really organise the frozen fruit and ice-cream and biscuits above, and the frozen meat below (prepared veg and grated cheese in bottom smaller drawer), then I can maybe get half a dozen portions of soup in there as well.2025 remaining: 37 coupons from 66:

I still top up my Vit D in winter (since you can't store it...) by pushing my sleeves up every time i go out in all but the most bitter weather - I wear gloves or fingerless mitts, but my forearms are usually exposed, specifically to get some natural Vit-D even in midwinter, it's worth getting every tiny bit you can!2025 remaining: 37 coupons from 66:

IT IS STILL SUMMER!!I wanna be in the room where it happens6 -
@VJsmum - oh, I wouldn't wear short sleeves in winter, brrr! But sleeves pushed up to just below elbow, and good warm mitts - it gives me the 8-10" of forearm bared to daylight which really seems to be ok if I'm walking briskly! I take a Vit-D supplement year-round anyway, but the stuff your body gets from daylight really is the best if you can get it somehow!2025 remaining: 37 coupons from 66:

Yes, it,s still officially summer - I,ve receive two blight warnings in the past couple of days due to the humidity but looking around in the sky i can suddenly no longer see the swifts whizzing around in the sky and wonder if they have already done their sudden silent disappearing act.7

Swallows gone now, geese on the move, and we haven't seen the sun here for a few days. Smelled like autumn this morning. I hate this time of year - summer up here is too short

I know what you mean, Mar. Our Welsh Ospreys are about to depart - always a sign that autumn is nigh..
I wish i liked autumn, and i would if it didn't lead into winter...
Sorry to whinge - our woodburner is arriving soon so that's something to look forward to.I wanna be in the room where it happens8 -
I think if we got a long good summer like France does then I'd look forward to autumn, but some years it just gets going then it ends and I hate that.
