Our household are also stashing wood on my inlaw's property. They felled a tree mid spring and are holding the wood for us as it dries.5

Got this today, we can use it in warmer weather and let the big stove go out.

I don't know what that is, but I really, really NEED one. Now.6

It's a calor gas room heater, made to look like a stove. I saw it/loved it/had to have it. We have a big coal fired stove that runs the central heating and heats the water, but since we're both poorly we find it a struggle to get the coal in, Thought this would do for cooler mornings and evenings and give us a break from hauling coal up the back steps.

That looks lovely Mar. I thought it was a stove. Will be handy for you and keep you cosy.7

It was just a matter of time wmf before one of us fell down the back steps and broke an ankle. Or worse, a hip. Will still use the big coal one in winter though as it warms up the stone walls and heatsthe water to boiling point, it's terrific for a cold house. Dear to run though!

Our green bin collection was suspended so the big logs we cut from shrubs last autumn were still there under cover. I passed them on to a neighbour for his fire pit but maybe some people could use theirs for their fires?

I've been looking at winter hats and gloves and think I need some new and warmer ones than I've got, mine are all quite old and a bit tatty so I'd like a fleece lined hat for warmer ears and a pair of sheepskin gloves (I don't like mittens) but they are such a price to buy. I'm going to get some new hot water bottle inners too because ours are a good few years old and rubber perishes over the years and If the budget runs to it after that lot on the wish list is a pair of real sheepskin slippers for warm feet too.6

Wool is the warmest thing you can get, nothing else works as well in extreme cold

(just loose on top, not fully enclosed if you see what I mean, in case of overheating)The beautiful thing about learning is nobody can take it away from you.
