  • I've got some long hours on trains and in train stations tomorrow... And I always find train stations cold at any time of year.
So I'm about to dig out some leggings for underneath my trousers, a hat and some gloves! It'll be the first time the winter woolies have come out, but the winter coat has been going for about 10 days already.
Because it's fun to have money!
    £0/£70 August GC
    £68.35/£70 July GC
    January-June 2019 = £356.94/£420
  • Sitting room is all but done for winter

...long 90 inch thick curtains up
...put new bulbs in electric fire and tried it on full blast to burn off the dusty smell
...got fitted covers for couches with back throws and blankets over arms
...got lots of fake candles to make it feel cosy
...made quilted knee throwovers lined with fleece
    ...silver radiator backing

    Wintery smelling melts
Lined cat beds with silver radiator backing
    Given radiators a full blast
Keeping a cardie each over back of couch

Costco or Amazon Frankie xx It was a doctor in a pernicious anaemia forum who told me how much more we need to take, esp northern countries like Canada and Scotland and Scandinavia. He said anywhere north of Watford needed extra- I dono where that is but I know I'm north of it lol

Take high dose vitD, the 800iu ones in the shops are no good. The govt recommendations to take 800iu a day were set in the 1920s to prevent rickets - and that's all it will do! I take 4000-5000 a day and have done for many years, I don't get colds or flu any more.

I take two of the 1200iu ones daily and my chap takes one - we get the Vitabiotics ones from Tesco who have a 3-for-2 offer on all supplements until the year 2020...! (No, seriously til 2020, they have the date the offer runs out on the shelf-label, and it already has run for several years!)

  • I take 3,000 iu a day. My vit d has gone from 26 to upper 90s. I buy the £2 ones from asda, not the 800iu ones from my doctor with a target of only 50 !

If you follow a vegan diet you need to take high doses of Vit D - I think otherwise you can't metabolise calcium easily.

    Thanks everyone.

I've looked at the sad lamps/light boxes and they seem very expensive so I'm going to go with the vitamin d in the short term and see how I get on.

How about daylight bulbs? They are more expensive [ you usually find them in craft shops but I got some from amazon] but they really do look like daylight...Good for fooling the head anyway :)
