Talk on the Scottish weather forum of snow on the traffic webcam up at Drumochter tonight!

Yep, just looked out and there is snow down to about 500 feet on the hills here this morning.
  • My goodness me what a difference a day makes! after a damp yesterday we have a sparkling sunny day here in Hampshire BUT with the change of direction of the wind it's ARCTIC! I've just walked Cookie dog and was glad that at least I had my old gloves in the pocket of my jacket, I could have done with a scarf and hat too, Brrrrrrr! it's cold out there!

Yes this will bring the remaining leaves off the trees quite quickly now. 17 degrees In the house this morning when we woke. Fleeces and thermals definitely in full time use now. It’s still a bit of an endurance test to see how much we can manage without putting central heating on. When the sun shines we open the curtains as much as possible in the hope of edging up the room temperature a degree or two and close them as soon as dusk comes and the temperature starts dropping.

BBC says 2C up here but it seems colder than that, heavy sparkly white frost on all the cars and the gate.
  • It looks frosty out there. I think it is coat, scarf and maybe even gloves weather today.

    Thermometer reading 0C now.
  • Very in frosty in my corner of Berkshire - hat and gloves on tiniest one this morning. She has also consented to wearing long socks!

Sun is streaming through the windows and lung is quite warm. Boy child is off school today - asthma really playing up so I shall use my time wisely and clean the cobwebs that seem to appear in the sunshine.

  • We drove to a gig in Leicester last night and when we cm out at 11pm we had to scrape definite ice off the windscreen!

Shropshire is bright and sunny this morning and crisply cold - lovely! My Mr N has the day off as we were so late last night, and has been helping me with various housework this morning, and this afternoon we're planning to put the winter duvet on, fill the stone pig (ceramic Victorian 10-hour hot water bottle heater), and settle down with some good old films :)

We have a small flat, and in winter we use the bedroom as a bed-sitter, because it faces south and is filled with sun all day (on a sunny day!) and is easy to keep cosy and comfortable; the sitting-room is not only bigger but it has a much bigger window facing north so in winter it gets very chilly very quickly. I tend to use it sometimes in the daytimes for sewing, but mostly we use the bedroom for a sitting-room.

Was really pleased DH had sorted gloves and scraper for yesterday morning frost on the car etc.... Scraper broke.

Bought a new one yesterday ready for another possible frost tomorrow.

Thankfully have a couple of decent coats to accommodate growing bump no.2.
