  • No Champagne for me, nor substitute.
Oh well! I got a bottle last week when it was £12.99 plus some Bucks Fizz when there was 25% off so not too bothered, sub would've been nice
Goood Luck everyone who has ordered. I suppose it's down to stock in different areas, I'm in Hertfordshire if that helps anyone
  • purchased 2 bottles I think its a bargain as its not the most expensive champers but you cant get a decent cava for £8 so its a good offer to me. man in tesco said they cant get it out fast enough!

Is this one nice? I like a quite sweet one, normally drink the Martina Asti Spumante and like those is it similar?

I can't comment on how nice it is, but it won't be sweet. "Brut" = "Dry".
  • My order said, "No appropriate substitution available". What, no champagne left in the whole of the store. Who would have guessed it.

I had 4 delivered today (late as usual) and the Tesco receipt confirms £8 each.

  • I can confirm it's lush.
I went to my local store today (26 miles) and there was 1 bottle left.
It's my painkiller tonight after being to emergency dentist. It's lovely
I normally drink Prosecco as I love Champagne but can't afford it. Gutted there was only one bottle lol

After attempting to order on line and then being told the best bet was to visit a store, I went first to my local superstore, all sold out! Then went to Amersham Superstore, (about 4 miles) all sold out! On to the station as going to London, passed a Tesco Express and called in there on the off chance. They had a shelf full, so I bought the max. 6 bottles and got a further discount bringing the price down to £7.20 per bottle! A great deal I thought. Told my son who asked me to call in on my way home and if they had any left, to get him some. Managed another 6 bottles. Now comes the interesting part! Had some friends around on Sat. night and opened a bottle! It was terrible! A really sour taste and a funny yellow colour not at all like champers should be! Took the lot back to-day and guess what, they had a shelf full at the High Wycombe Loudwater store. This description has now been confirmed by Jilly Goolden, so good luck to those who have bought it for Christmas!
