Mse-plusnet broadband package cost breakdown is wrong

MSE's Broadband (Battle) Price War offer listed on MSE's Top Deals. 19/11/14
I took advantage of the offer by signing up to Plusnet yesterday, but I could NOT sign up for the 'pay up front line rental deal' under the standard PLusnet deal that is listed/costed up and as advertised on the MSE's web page.
Meaning I could not achieve the cost of what MSE advertised.
I telephoned Plus net and they were unaware of MSE’s Plusnet advert and that the MSE’s costings did not correlate to any of their package deals, so why is MSE advertising and listing up prices that are not true?
This has left me feeling more cautious about MSE adverterts.

This is the deal I'm considering, it's on the PlusNet site, but I'm sure the MSE link had the same figures...0 -
I've just gone through the sign up process starting from the MSE site. It takes you through to the main Plus net home page where the deal is highlighted. It doesn't look like a special MSE promotion which is probably why the staff you spoke to didn't understand what you were referring to.
If you follow through the process you get the broadband option of £2.50 per month for 12 months then below that there is the section headed up Phone - current choice Weekends. If you click on Change the page opens up and lists a variety of options covering line rental and call plans. One option is to select Line Rental Saver at £155.88. I selected this option without any problems.
I couldn't go much further without signing up but I can't see a problem with the deal as described. I can only assume that you didn't open up the additional details relating to Phone.0 -
It didn't show that option and I was online with one of their online chat people while going through the registration sign up. They had a look at the time and couldn't see it either mmm!
When I phoned them the next day they told me the yearly payment option only applied if I took the evening calls option (£2 per month). They also stated that this is in their terms and conditions. Well I phoned again and escalated the issue and eventually they allowed me to have the yearly payment option, but what a right carry on it was. Thanks for looking through though.0 -
Why go through MSE at all - it's not anything you won't get from the main PlusNet site anyway.
if you use Quidco or Topcashback you also get at least £10 cashback. I got £100 cashback a few weeks ago. They're offering £140 for Fibre BB.0 -

Well, I signed up to Plusnet on Tuesday, direct via their own page, for standard copper wire connection.
Took the option of line saver with no call package at the price of £155.88 plus first month payment of broadband of £2.50. A total of £158.32.
Voice mail 1571 is a free and inclusive.
Why you are being charged for £5 for voice mail I don't know.
Plus I have looked through their terms and conditions and I can't see anything that says you must take the £2 call option for you to pay the line saver upfront.
kevinshome I would check your account online to see what they have charged you.
Just seems what you have been told is total BullSt.:)

I have been looking at joining EE from Plusnet for bb and phones. Called PN today and outlined EE's offer. Upshot is PN has now offered me unlimited for 50p a month! Ok so I pay the line rental upfront again, but I get evenings and weekend calls and £75 amazon vouchers. Pleased with the result.0
