OP, it's clear the seller hasn't cleared this properly or completed the necessary legalities, thus is entirely their own fault (or your fault since you can do this under CN22), not ParcelForce.

This is a massive s**t storm you've created over something that is not even Parcelforces fault!

On a side note from a technical standpoint, are you mad paying £200 quid for a hard drive? Plenty of hard drives I'm sure would have gone into the machine. As long as you get the capacity and spin rate (assuming it's mechanical and not SSD) you're not going to see a difference

So basically the sender has to complete a customs declaration form CN22/23 in advance for the clearance to be done by the receiver, or does the receiver has to complete this form before the package arrives to UK???

Read the quote in powerful_Rogue's post again.

    Particularly the first two sentences:
As the importer you can carry out your own Customs procedures. If you want to do this, you will need to ensure the sender clearly marks the Customs declaration form (CN22 or CN23) 'goods to be Customs cleared by the importer'.

Thank goodness, someone thought of the children.

Might also have to grab a meatball subway, but not sure if I like them - perhaps they would give me a sample.

By my reckoning, this is rant number 347,289 on the subject!!! Stuff the children, won't someone please think about the search function?!?!

I said i did my research. It seems everyone just accepts this inhumanity and goes on. I don't.

It is because they had to ask for my permission if they wanted to do the clearance on my part when they just go on charge you afterwards. It's like I go and buy you lunch and then ask you to pay me for the launch and an extra fee for my work. I'm starting to believe everyone is a sheep here in UK..Legalized taxes, legalized surveillance, legalized control of the media..

As for the hard disk, i know what i'm buying. 1.5 TB 2.5" hard disk. I wanted to upgrade from 1Tb, but even though Samsung offers 2TB i'm just not going to fall into the same trap a second time..reliability is above all, and no-one touches Hitachi/HGST on that one.

Just be sure that you check payment terms before using Subway, or was that BP? Is the Subway for the children?

Not very good research by the looks of it. There's a thread on here spanning 6 years or so that covers everything you could possibly say on the subject.

Stop being sheep. You know it's not right. In a while they are going to bang your wives and daughters for "taxes" and ask you for an admin fee too on top for handling of condoms.

Man up then and instead of whining about it here, go and do something to change it if you really think you can. I expect the next thing we will see is another online petition that gets approx 12 signatures!

Good luck but I won't be holding my breath!!

PS - I import £1000's worth of products every month.

You're free to leave any time you wish and return to your country of paradise. I wonder why you're even still here if everything is so perfect elsewhere?!

Not very well its seems. For a fee of £13.50 I can assist with that.

    Indeed,indeed.

You gave permission when you chose not to do your own clearance. You know, when you researched it?
