    Very productive day so far.
Booked onto my next two exams and booked and paid for the last course starting next week. Just waiting for the confirmation email and I'll then book one day's holiday care for DS as it's starting during half term.
Updated my weekly food delivery order, hopefully got everything we need.
Washed up, done a load of laundry.
We're now going out to run a few errands and throw a frisbee around in the park, weather looks beautiful outside :j:j:j

Hmm, so no email confirmation yet and they haven't taken the money, will have to call back to confirm it went through OK. This Mercury retrograde period...things always slow down in one way or another. Anyone else into Astrology? haha this might have not made much sense to most :rotfl:

Spent a few hours in the park, ended up lying on the grass and trying to make up animals out of clouds :D This all ended abruptly as I saw a massive earthworm crawling an inch away from my face  I try to show a good example to DS when it comes to things like spiders, bees etc but a worm gets me every time _pale_

Made chicken curry when we came back and I've just got some Chai tea simmering on the hob. When we were in CA last September, a lady we were staying with made some every day and it got me hooked. Meant to be really good for you too. I use cinnamon sticks, fresh ginger, cardamon, cloves, aniseed, fennel seeds and peppercorns and let it simmer for as long as possible. Then strain it and add a tin of coconut milk and blend, it tastes amazing, spicy and sweet at the same time :A

Hey moneyonmymindsam thanks for saying hi
Yes, I did quit everything :rotfl: Honestly, best feeling in the world, I'm on a roll now to a much better future.

Called the training provider and confirmed the course is definitely booked for next week. Paid for one day's holiday club for DS. Finally received my exam results too, I needed 100pts to pass and I got 112pts so I was very comfortable there.

I forgot we were going to a rugby match tonight and double booked myself with our food delivery :o Had to call them and rearrange for tomorrow morning, felt really bad, hopefully this won't add more work to the driver. At least he won't come here to find us out.

I've booked myself in to give some blood in two weeks' time, I'm really looking forward to this - is it weird? :rotfl: It's an all-round good feeling. Plus it's really good for you as your body then has to make new fresh blood which is fantastic for health.

Rugby last night was fantastic. Didn't get home till late though but it's half term so it's fine.
Shopping got delivered this morning, I'm about to put in some lamb into the slow cooker.

Yesterday my Sonicare toothbrush gave up on me... :( I cannot live without it so had to order a new one, it's charging up right now but that's a spend I didn't budget for.

I would love a quiet day of studying today but DS sounds like he's got other ideas. Yesterday we were out all day and I need to make a start on my new exam. Long half terms are hard for single parents, I'm always trying to find the right balance of having fun in the now whilst working for the future. Think maybe we'll watch a movie for some together time and then I'll study, I want to do at least 6 hrs today.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone :)
  • Sounds like Life is going well in general - you seem to have a lot of good healthy eating tips - Chai Tea sounds interesting for starters.

Great news about the course too. Keep up the positive vibes :-)

  • Life was going well :rotfl: and then... DS caught some kind of virus.
All of a sudden he went from fine to very feverish. This is the first time he's been ill since 2015 so I didn't see it coming.

What with studying for the exam, I started getting a little stressed but managed to reign it in quickly. I then had to miss the first day of my course because it was half term and there was no way DS was ready to go to the holiday club. That was very upsetting as there are only 5 days overall in the course.

Fever was gone after 2 days so very quickly but the day after he came out in a rash that wouldn't go away when pressed  Went to see a GP, see sent us off to the A&E, 4hrs later DS got blood taken and we decided to go home, couldn't sit there any longer.
Another reason I decided to go home was because I felt like a fool! Because I didn't trust my mum's instinct that told me there was nothing wrong with him and I trusted internet and strangers more. How very disappointed I was in myself. We were both stressed, tired, hungry and I wasted many hours of studying sitting at A&E.

Lessons learnt: 1) not every rash that doesn't go away when pressed will kill your child immediately, especially if he's fine otherwise. This should be more widely available on the internet; 2) ALWAYS trust my instincts. Always :A

Having said all of that, I sat the exam this morning and I passed :T:T:T
I actually cried happy tears when I came out because it was incredibly hard and I couldn't believe I passed. The relief was incredible, I'm so overjoyed :j

So that's E3 & P3 done, onto F3 now. Not long to go so I will get right into it tonight. Tomorrow is the 2nd day of the course and I will definitely make it :D Can't wait, I love learning.

The plan is coming together, I am keeping a long-term view and jumping over any hurdles that come my way.

    Hope everyone is well :A

    Hi Magician

Your storey was similar to mine. single parent studying in the same field but feeling a little lost with my path.
I still feel a little lost sometimes, but I love my job after a slight career change. I'm still studying but on the home straight and we have a mortgage but I also have debts.

Best of luck with finding your purpose. the new path sounds very worthy.

    take care

    I'm home and I'm a little bit knackered :D

I'd been studying so hard, then sat the exam yesterday and now the new course today. Walked there and back, dropping and picking DS up. Loads of info to take in, 1 day's catching up to do at home before next week and all the while I have to study for my next exam. Really need even a tiny bit of rest but I know it's only 5 more weeks to go and then all of this will be over and so worth it :T

So tonight I'm only giving myself a few tasks - dinner, clean up after and a pedicure.

That's it, I will chill out for the rest of the evening, watching something fun tonight and enjoy a little bit of peace.
Tomorrow I'm right back to studying, though I have a couple of errands to run - a return to make and also need to get DS some shorts for school.

I went back on the Harcombe diet as I'd put on a stone since this time last year. Lost 3lbs in the last week so going very well, will get there in no time :j

Can feel some tension in my neck and shoulders from the exam yesterday, will do some yoga tonight to get rid of that as well.

    Hey SM,

    thanks for stopping by :j

I was lost too - because it wasn't right for me.
Now I feel great again and funny enough this has spurred me on to finish the studies off.
Sometimes we have subconscious behaviour that we don't even know is there. For me, it was that deep down I knew I didn't want to work in finance so I was sabotaging my own studies so I didn't have to qualify and progress in my career.
Whereas now I'm just doing it for me, for my education and I couldn't be happier :A

Hope you find where you belong
