Big Chris on Roary the racing car does.

It is on on Channel 5 Milkshake on Saturday mornings (around about 9am, but you need to check that!)

How about getting her to choose the frames, if you find a couple of choices first!!

    Good luck
    Thanks :T CP :D

They watch Cbeebies most of the time and but do like Milkshake as well coz my ds LOVES Noddy :D

I don't know why but we don't normally watch TV on a Saturday morning but do on weekdays  so I'll put this on for her this weekend :D

I have thought about Stuart Little's brother coz we have got this DVD.
Also there is a little boy she knew at pre-school but obviously they've broken up the summer hols now - but I'm not relying on him coz he's a bit rough sometimes so he's her friend some days and not on others...

Also all of her grandparents wear glasses so I think there's enough role models - just I panicked for a start :o:D

Is there someone that DD likes or admires a glasses-wearer? Teacher, playgroup leader, grandparent? Getting them to talk to her about it might help.

Why not just tell her that only special girls are allowed to wear pretty pink glasses? Surely mentioning the words special, pink and pretty in the same sentance would win over any little girl ;) You can get barbie ones - does she like barbie?

If her eyesight is quite bad then she will probably love them the instant she looks through them and won't need any encouragement to wear them! :)

My son also has to wear glasses since he was four. He has been wearing them for 7 months now and it hasn't been an issue at all. I didn't buy him any special ones with cartoons characters as I wasn't aware they did them at the time. He did choose the colour of the frames though. The first couple of days he would take them off if he thought I wasn't looking but after that he was fine. Since he has been wearing them his eyes have improved by 50% and hopefully in a few years time he may not need them at all.

Good luck. I am sure your daughter will take to her glasses in no time.

DD is 5 and has started wearing glasss.

Fortunately I do so she is used to it, but we have to remind her that Velma from Scooby Doo wears them (and shes more "cool" in the newer epsiodes!) We got her a cartoon pair with Little Miss Naughty on them (so apt if you knew Lara!) and a pink case.

But we have the problem of getting her to actually wear them (sore/ hurt ears etc!) as opposed to not looking cool or liking them.

When she grows up, she (currently) wants to be a pilot in the Red Arrows and have a plane that has pink smoke because at the moment they don't have any girl pilots and pink smoke - she thinks there should be as the pink smoke would look pretty in the sky! Its a great incentive to get her to keep wearing them by telling her a pilot is not allowed to wear glasses.

If she wants to be a pilot doesn't telling her that have the opposite to the desired effect!?

We've been to choose some frames at Specsavers today - they do the Barbie ones :j and she's picked herself a purple pair which she's very happy with. :D (The pink ones were so pale you couldn't tell.) We should be able to pick them up tomorrow so she won't have forgotten about them before we pick them up. :T

We've got them from a branch in a suburb of Derby because they could get them for the next day or the day after (Monday) at the latest whereas other more local branches of Specsavers would take 7-10 days to order the lenses because they don't keep her prescription in stock. She may only need this prescription for 2 months and 10 days is nearly a quarter of that

Anyway we'll see how she goes on after we've collected them...
