  • I'd recommend the iPad Mini. Massive number of apps, inc BBC, ITV, 4, 5. Everything the Android Huddle will have plus more. Easier to use and better quality. Great battery life. John Lewis are currently doing the the 16GB model for £150.

  • Google nexus 7 is the best tablet on the market of that size and then get a Chromecast which will allow you to stream everything you mentioned onto the tv.

    Well Islandman, they're specialised commercial devices, not consumer tablets in the sense we mean these days. You'll not find those on the high street.
    Capacitive allows you to use your fingers (resistive you can use your fingernail, but more commonly a stylus, and of course adds multitouch, so that you can pinch and zoom etc.
