That last one featured the shopper who bought the 250g Bernard Matthews Wafer Turkey Ham at £2.00 instead of the £1.50 400g pack. In fact, for us, the 250g version is the correct one, as you'd be doing an APG shop, and it works out cheaper, with the 10%, by weight than the 400g version. (Presumably because A is 10% cheaper (or more:D) than all major supermarkets except themselves. Shame they aren't 10% cheaper than themselves:rotfl: - unless you have a colleague discount in which case it's better on cost by weight to get the 400g pack - and then perhaps find you don't get through it all and end up wasting some of it:rotfl::rotfl:.)

It brings me to my story from M - this in fact is from Monday but I didn't post it and the instance with the BM Turkey Ham now gets me doing so.

I saw a shopper, in the 'fresh' section, picking up three packs:eek::eek: of the 500g brussels sprouts - at 99p each! When the 750g packs are 69p each (and on 3 for £1.50):rotfl::rotfl:.

Even if they did not want the extra 250g in a pack, it would have been better to have paid 69p instead of 99p a pack. I almost blurted out that "You should be getting the 750g bag as that's only 69p", however I have a strong self-suppression caused - unjustly in my view - by societal pressure, as well as probably my "careful consideration of what to say and how to say it" (T Attwood, Complete Guide to Asperger's Syndrome) and as I felt I'd be misunderstood - or else have to stand there, explaining in a very unclear way (as the words would never come out right in speech) - I didn't say anything.

Later, I saw (or in fact I didn't really, as I tend not to look at people but heard) two elderly ladies over the Johnson's baby wipes. "Two for three pound" I]sic[/I, one of them said. That's exactly what the inflated (compared to what was then Morries' previous offer price) individual price does - encourages people to buy more. £1.79 or 2 for £3. "No," I thought "just buy one vs Asda at 70p":rotfl:. Just unnecessary buying double. (I note M now showing 89p on msm, they'll probably put the price down since Wednesday.) Apparently it would have been the Gentle Cleansing version vs A - but pretty useless now it's 89p in M:rotfl:.

On the same visit, though, on Monday, I also heard a couple talking to each other. They were in the chocolates aisle and the woman pointed out the box of 350g Quality Street which she announced, correctly, was "three pounds"! She did so suggesting that that was quite high. "They are not are they?" she said. The man replied to her as 'Joe Public'.

Joe Public's view on the Quality Street at £3? "All that in the advertising - it's crap isn't it?"

The couple did not pick up any Quality Street or any other box of chocolate. At least some of the shoppers have sense:D:T:rotfl:.

In fact - a postscript - I've since been sent a Nectar email from "a well-known petrol company". It's showing me they have these boxes of chocolates at 3 for £10:eek::laugh:. They say "You can't argue with a great deal..." Oh yes I can:D. I can argue with it as it's not a great deal! What an overpayment and would be stung three times.

I did think of replying to them:eek:, to argue my point against their "deal", but decided probably best not as merely wasting time. I always go for these invitations to argue with things though - if anyone ever says "You can't argue with that", that's a surefire way of getting me to do exactly that as much as I possibly can, in order to prove their claim that I can't and it's complete absurdity totally incorrect. It's an absolute way of provoking me into arguing anything contrary to what they have said. It's like if I see a company or organisation reported in the media as saying "We've never had any complaints about that." I always feel obliged at that moment to write them a complaint and submit it to them, if only so that they can never ever again, at least not truthfully, ever claim that no-one has complained about whatever it is. Just absurd - and defeats the point: and, in my view, it shouldn't be necessary for someone to complain in order for something to be done, for example to improve quality of service. (If you did not have a complaint... well, you have got one now:p:rotfl::rotfl:. I'll continue to overegg folks: ... I'd add "So don't claim such a stupid thing like 'We've not had any complaints'...":rotfl:)

Dettol 36 wipes works vs T at this moment, together with a Bloo cleaner. Check msm before breakfast though - haven't we had 'triggers' appearing before on a Saturday morning, especially when they are now on a.com?

Job done for tonight [this overnight period, not "tonight" as in tonight, if you see what I mean] - just to say if this "cleaning event" stops working, I might start doing my own 'cleaning event' - at Sains.:D - goodnight folks, see you later!

Couldn't see an answer to this, but I have spent the last hour back and forth trying to use mine too getting the same message for tomorrow pm's C&C. The only thing I did different from usual is started my basket through quidco for some clicksnap items then transferred to A's to finish shopping, but I don't see how this should make any difference? Anyway, I must sleep. Will look in the morning to see if anyone has an answer. :o

If you reading this and still awake, g'night, if you reading this and just woke up, good morning. :)

Well, if there is a cleaning event going on in A, it (or the most relevant part of it:D) is being kept very quiet and pretty invisible. Neither of my bloody A stores (my two nearest ones) had any £2 for £2 showing for the Dettol wipes, just a £2.26 SEL. You'd never know they were in the offer! Thank you to the OP on this. Pity the poor folks that pick up just one of the them at £2.26:rotfl:. Or even how someone who needs Dettol wipes and also needs a bleach or toilet cleaner, picks up one of them, otherwise missing the 2 for £2 mbuy and gets an unexpected deduction at the till:rotfl:. Of course they are unlikely to pick the right combination of items in the offer! The Bloo in my store on the very bottom shelf - where all the best bargains are!:D

Meanwhile, they seem to be stopping stocking 10p Haribos in the store just now. Already hasn't had any Tangfastics for about three months - now, no Starmix either. Had to go down to White Mice and Buttons. Just six different types of 10p sweets in total - what sort of main store is this? I wouldn't put it past them to cease stocking any 10p sweets at all:rotfl: - oh well, at least they can't very easily stop us buying single loose veg.
