Good evening Elite, not much time for shopping recently or posting but have lurked here and there. Will have a good catchup when I can, hope I've not missed too much with regards to RL - I just caught something above about FC and hospital so hope you are ok FC.

Ds2 has his date for his SCAIT assesment and Speech and laguage are now working with him at school, so feeling like we are getting somewhere at last.

Had a bit of drama with dd2 being bullied at school - she had perfume sprayed on her the other day and the girl who did it walked off saying "that's better " :(:( Dd2 does not smell at all and I think one her old school "friends" is behind it. They bumped into her accidentlally on purpose a few times today and they keep sniggering loudly when she walks by. Poor kid is trying to deal with it but got upset today. We were trying to keep an eye on it and hoped it would die down with no intervention but enough now.

I phoned the instigators mum who I've known since our daughters started nursery together and she got really upset and dragged her daughter round to ours to apologise. I am phoning school tomorrow as there are now 3 girls involved in the bullying and the other 2 need speaking to. It has left us all feeling a bit weary and teary, am a bit worried about what grief dd2 will get in school tomorrow for telling but I've told her to phone me if there is any trouble and I will come and get her. She is such a quiet soul who just wants to get on with everyone, she doesn't deserve this :(

Vent over.....sorry for the long post xx

    Hi Strewth
Really hope you get this sorted ASAP. Really hard for your dd and also really tough for you. Sending hugs to you all xx
Cherish those you have in your life because you never know when they won't be there anymore.

No matter how you feel, get up, dress up & never give up.

Feel free to have another special weekend at a time of your choosing as well (or indeed many special weekends and weeks), but please leave Christmas alone. Despite some of the comments on here, it is not just another day but a very special day (for our family and many others who believe, and I am not just talking about Father Christmas :santa2:).

I appreciate people have different perspectives and that it sometimes presents challenges accommodating everyone's wishes - we drew the line when we had children that Christmas Day was for us, at home, and others in our family could join us if they wished (invariably not taken up as they have other plans). We then have Boxing Day or other days over the Christmas holidays where other parts of the family get together at our house or at others (sometimes hosted, sometimes sharing the preparation by bringing different items for the meal to share the load etc). The first year we did this there may have been a few noses put out of joint as it was not as we had done for a number of years, but as has also been commented, family traditions evolve (new family members, children, the passing of loved ones) and worrying about travelling huge distances, sleeping on airbeds or in unsuitable surroundings, and not enjoying it, is against the spirit and meaning of Christmas. Think what works for you/your partner/close family and what is ideal, then think of what others are wanting and if it is all possible - if not, see what compromises could work - it is give and take and generally solutions can be found . If not, then sometimes you have to do what is best for you and people (generally) get over it - our only rule was ensuring that no one was left alone as a result of the plans and it has worked out so far :A.

Try not to stress out people, it is a fantastic time of year :xmassmile:snow_grin:xmassign::xmastree::rudolf:.

Thanks cjj, I don't want dd2 to see how upset I am but I think she realises that me and her dad are trying to help by interfering.
