fairclaire wrote: »Good Evening
DS1 and the Barbie doll have left the building to go out on the town. Phew is all I can say. I've not dared have a drink all night but I've got one now
I'll attempt to tell you the highlights of the evening. I honestly can't do it justice, it been a real 'you had to be there' night. Very surreal. This might be long so if you're not interested.....scroll on
Now I really don't like to judge people but my ability not to has been well tested this evening. I should concentrate on the positives :rotfl::rotfl:
So most importantly she didn't look her age. Im very glad because I couldn't have coped!! But she honestly was very Barbie-esque. Very attractive (I can see why a teenage boy would be attracted :eek:) albeit it in a 'paid for a little help' sort of way :rotfl::rotfl: MIAOW!
She's a former dancer and choreographer and now teaches that sort of stuff. Baby snatching aside, she's actually a very interesting lady who's had a great career, travelled the world and generally had an interesting and successful life. I just wish she hadn't had so much of it :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
My DD was a total minx tonight :eek: She left the table after starters to 'go to the loo' but actually sent me a text which said 'those boobs aren't real' (no poop! I did notice when one nearly poked my eye out during introductions! :cool: ) I was sat next to her when I opened it :eek: She also followed me into the kitchen to tell me to 'watch her forehead' as it had been botoxed......I had noticed that as well.
DS2 spent the night correcting her Americanisms and telling her what we refer to things as. But his defining moment was when she was looking at my collection of the kids baby/children/family photos in the dining room. There is a big baby photo of DS1 she commented that it must've been taken in 1995 at which time she was mid-way through college. DS2 said to her 'Don't you find that just a little weird?' :rotfl::rotfl: I had to leave the room for the purpose of composing myself at that point.
Fair play to her she never took offence to any of it and if she did, she hid it well!
She's never been married and has no kids. She told me she has always been too busy concentrating on her career and having fun to be tied down (Hallelujah) She also told me she wasn't maternal. At this point she was precariously draped over MY baby and I did think.....hmmm whatever :rotfl::rotfl:
My OH lasted until about half way through and slinked off. He really doesn't like meeting new people anyway. I've since heard his thoughts as someone who used to be a teenage lad and I won't repeat them here. This being a family forum and all that
So all in all it could've been worse. Im glad I will be in bed when they get home and who knows what will happen tomorrow. Suffice to say Im quietly confident I won't be buying any wedding hats or bootees any time soon and Barbie will be boarding a big pink plane and going back to where she came from at easter

[1] I am interested, and I'm sure my long posts never put people off:rotfl::rotfl:! I'll try to be a bit shorter though (oops, I'm adding to it by writing all this:rotfl:).
[2] :rotfl::rotfl:
(Yes, this was the part I really wanted to read.)
[3] I'm sorry, I didn't get the joke!:o Why is that the 'wrong' thing to say?:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: It's very amusing though, whatever it is, those very sorts of things usually are!(:rotfl:) If he'd asked me, I probably would have just answered "Yes:D", had a bit of a chuckle, and then that would be that!
[4] She certainly did, with people like you with super-human powers of being able to read how other people are feeling:rotfl:!
I think you lose me all thereafter:o, but not to worry!:rotfl::rotfl::cool:

Age is a funny old thing when it comes to relationships. You think 'oh I couldn't be with someone younger/older' but when you meet someone and it just clicks and it works, age doesn't really come into it. Well that's my take on it anyways! I'm 29, my OH 48, we met when I was 18 he was 38. He has kids, grandkids, and excess baggage but it works for us. Yeah some people find it strange or whatever, but that's their issue, not ours.
Not entirely sure where I was going with that :rotfl::rotfl: It's just a subject close to my heart....those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind.
