DS1 and the Barbie doll have left the building to go out on the town. Phew is all I can say. I've not dared have a drink all night but I've got one now
I'll attempt to tell you the highlights of the evening. I honestly can't do it justice, it been a real 'you had to be there' night. Very surreal. This might be long so if you're not interested.....scroll on
Now I really don't like to judge people but my ability not to has been well tested this evening. I should concentrate on the positives :rotfl::rotfl:
So most importantly she didn't look her age. Im very glad because I couldn't have coped!! But she honestly was very Barbie-esque. Very attractive (I can see why a teenage boy would be attracted ) albeit it in a 'paid for a little help' sort of way :rotfl::rotfl: MIAOW!
She's a former dancer and choreographer and now teaches that sort of stuff. Baby snatching aside, she's actually a very interesting lady who's had a great career, travelled the world and generally had an interesting and successful life. I just wish she hadn't had so much of it :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
My DD was a total minx tonight  She left the table after starters to 'go to the loo' but actually sent me a text which said 'those boobs aren't real' (no poop! I did notice when one nearly poked my eye out during introductions! ) I was sat next to her when I opened it  She also followed me into the kitchen to tell me to 'watch her forehead' as it had been botoxed......I had noticed that as well.
DS2 spent the night correcting her Americanisms and telling her what we refer to things as. But his defining moment was when she was looking at my collection of the kids baby/children/family photos in the dining room. There is a big baby photo of DS1 she commented that it must've been taken in 1995 at which time she was mid-way through college. DS2 said to her 'Don't you find that just a little weird?' :rotfl::rotfl: I had to leave the room for the purpose of composing myself at that point.
Fair play to her she never took offence to any of it and if she did, she hid it well!
She's never been married and has no kids. She told me she has always been too busy concentrating on her career and having fun to be tied down (Hallelujah) She also told me she wasn't maternal. At this point she was precariously draped over MY baby and I did think.....hmmm whatever :rotfl::rotfl:
My OH lasted until about half way through and slinked off. He really doesn't like meeting new people anyway. I've since heard his thoughts as someone who used to be a teenage lad and I won't repeat them here. This being a family forum and all that
So all in all it could've been worse. Im glad I will be in bed when they get home and who knows what will happen tomorrow. Suffice to say Im quietly confident I won't be buying any wedding hats or bootees any time soon and Barbie will be boarding a big pink plane and going back to where she came from at easter
FC! So glad it went well-ish! for you haha! Enjoy the wine and relax!0 -
Well done ds2, and well done fc and dh for being great hosts."We have to be kind because everyone is fighting a great, great battle" - Sir Richard Attenborough

How old is your son?
I never met my sons first gf, he was living away from home, but he told me after that she had the biggest boobs he had ever seen, really glad that it was a phase :-)Love your Mum, you'll never get another one when she's gone.0 -
Yes, yes, yes!:j:j
I like it when elsewhere is cheaper!
Morrisons
-£1.00
I've said before that A and M have been around the same price - and therefore 10% back! - certainly on the "everyday" things, unless they buy anything stupid in A. Sadly, Bubb's beef has been putting paid to a lot of that! But, at least this one has no beef!
Not as big as some I've had before, but it was needed!!
Why £5.xx?
Vs M
3.57 x ASDA Butcher's Selection British Pork Shoulder Roa...£10.29£8.88:j
1 x Birds Eye Steamfresh Fragrant Golden Vegetable Ric...£1.75£1.00:T
Not liked for any purchase by me myself - I'd wait until somewhere was £1 (or below), but I'm happy as A are more expensive!
1 x Birds Eye Steamfresh Creamy Cheese Pasta (350g)£1.79£1.75
Sadly they bought this, but never mind:
1 x Rimmel Scandal Eyes Mascara - Extreme Black£4.98£6.99
Even though they overpaid drastically and bought two Magnum packs, each at full price:eek::eek:!
1 x Magnum Classic (3x110ml)£2.25£2.00
1 x Magnum Almond (3x110ml)£2.25£2.00
Would have preferred M to be on offer at £1.25 or below, but again I'm alright with it on the comparison!:rotfl:
Glad they got this one:
1 x Crisp 'n Dry Vegetable Oil (1L)£1.98:rotfl:N/A
Why would anyone ever get 1L at £1.98 when, for just 2p more, they could have one twice the size?:rotfl: (Even though that £2 price, for 2L, is quite rubbish:rotfl:, due to getting no 10% and because it's price history in A has been 2 for £3 before.)
I suspect it's because they didn't notice the 2L ones! Didn't notice something! That's the problem (or, on occasions like this, the advantage and benefit:D) with ordinary people:rotfl:!
Btw - and I suspect this question will now be ignored and receive no response, not because anyone wishes to ignore me but merely because I put it right at the end, unnoticeably and never ask in the right context/right way, but, anyway, here goes, I'm waffling:rotfl: - does anyone know the expiry date for the current £2 offer on the Crisp N Dry Veg. Oil (the 2L ones) in A? TIA. If anyone bothers to reply (not because they cannot otherwise be bothered but merely because of the location of the question in this post:o:o). And - don't just reply with a single word "Yes" btw:D:D - you know I'm seeking more than that:rotfl::rotfl:! What date is the last date please, and thanks?0 -

She's very close to her big brotherbut at 16 she's also practising her claw sharpening skills
so Barbie got off quite lightly. She did call her brother Crystal Ken a couple of times though  :rotfl::rotfl:
