Maybe a new thread does that to people? There's an opportunity to re-state what the thread is all about, and remove or 'cleanse' [bye bye trolls:cool:] all the negativity from a previous thread, and new people come in just to say thanks for the new thread or say 'Hello', and feel like it's a nice place to stay for a bit, and old friends who haven't been around for a while pop in to say Hello and decide to hang around ... and so the thread develops and grows and gets better....
    [starts rambling:o]
...and we all save money and share bargains and glitches, and in amongst all the money-saving we share our thoughts and hopes and fears, and share our family dramas and funny stories, and ask for advice (and get it in return), and share our collective wisdom.:)

Whew! tired out from typing now

I have personally grown to not like the start of a new thread. There's always contention whether it's obvious or less obvious sometimes. It's very silly and petty to me. I tend to log off and miss the first few pages. To me, it's just a continuation of what we always do. Who starts it doesn't matter, why people who never post otherwise turn up to support the thread starter......if they meet their approval.......is something I don't get.
And even more, I don't get several pages of thanking someone for a new thread :o hit the thanks button and the threads will last longer :o:)

That's why it's sometimes more enjoyable to stay on an old thread rather than jump ship straightaway to a new one.

By the time the old thread is closed you've skipped all the pettiness (pettyness?) at the start of the new thread

Well, my Groupon tracked so I'm now a Quidco Rock Star :j:j:rotfl:

Sometimes its the little things in life that give so much pleasure!

One of my "filler" shops for Q was B&Q where I bought a metal plug for our kitchen sink. It has mad me so happy as it stays in place unlike the stupid rubber one that lets all the water out and I've put up with for ten years! Am I sad or what :rotfl::rotfl:
