FC don't worry too much about it. I just finished uni aged 22, and looking back I did a lot of erm... Experimenting back then. Made me a better person now, but I wouldn't do the things I did then now. I think if you live on campus at Uni you get swept up into a bubble, that's the only way I can explain it. I think I read somewhere you go to Uni yourself although I could just be making that up as I have a terrible memory.

My best friend a male friend 23, who is very independent and mature has recently began seeing a 43 year-old, a property developer who challenges him intellectually in a way that no other half-decent person his age could. I thought it would be weird meeting them but surprisingly not so much, if you took away there age there personalities matched perfectly. More than that he was the happiest I'd ever seen him.

In either situation mine or my friends we were both happy in what we have done / are doing and your son must be very happy with this woman to be bringing her home to meet you especially considering the situation which I am sure he is more than aware of himself. ;)

Thank you :) I do like having all perspectives on it so I appreciate this one. DS has said that she 'didn't look that old' so that's good. I couldn't cope if she looks older than me  :D :rotfl::rotfl:

I've read about that. Apparently they re-route the buses and close the road off because it's so distracting  :p :rotfl:

So it's confirmed, Im meeting DS1 old (er) girlfriend next Saturday _pale_ any suggestions as to where I can hide DS2 and DD until it's over?

Jeez - you could be in for a very hairy evening ! There is absolutely no way you will be able to keep DS2 from telling it exactly how it is - could be your way out if you don't really fancy a 'mature' DIL. DS1 might throttle DS2 though.

Looking forward to the follow up report - sure to be stuff for your long awaited book.

Someone round here has been playing very loud, very bassy music for the last three hours or so. It's no one in our street, so not sure exactly where it's coming from. It's clearly audible, even over DH shouting at Match of the Day, so it doesn't look like we'll be getting much sleep tonight :(

I am sure he's more conscious than you are. Surely he's heard every joke in the book in the terms of banter from his friends.

Age is just a number & all that jazz.
