missed your posts ... Well I must have missed your medical complaint too........
What would you advise to buy in the Black Friday sale ?
Hi, not rehoused yet as there's no 1 bed places available so they continue to add £25+ a week to my rent account!
I had to claim benefits a year ago when my wife left but carried on 'earning' with their consent through car boots. Now I can't do that, I'm at a point where I can't run the house, no gas for 6 months and electric, 1 light on!! Lappy battery charged by a friend!. Yes I'm struggling and yes i'll get back. Sometimes I don't know how???
RE- health.
I'm waiting for the final results for Parkinsons, but with all the other s**t I have to deal with, It'll be a breeze!!
Sorry to add this to your post Underperky.0 -

I think Zag retires there for a bit of peace and quiet when he's had enough of us. I lurk there too sometimes. They are all very special people.:A
They are like us without glitches:rotfl:
And maybe more respectable too:rotfl:

Teach M? Bet they won't pick up mix and match 3 for £1 on Match and More!:rotfl:
As for A, it won't make one jot of difference I suspect as the impact of a single person is tiny and we are a tiny minority - they don't expect us to be looking at APG comps and considering buying stuff elsewhere because it is more expensive elsewhere and trying to compare back. We are not behaving the way the vast majority of shoppers are. The supermarkets have to work out their tactics, of how to get people to buy etc., by the way the vast majority of people behave, for that is what will be effective in working. The very way to save more money is to do the precise opposite of what the vast majority do - if the vast majority were saving, the stores would change their approach to ensure they made more money (profit, their aim) - the fact that people don't behave that way and, yet, maybe believe that they are getting bargains is surely a sign that they are not really saving money but are falling for the tactics. The stores are, somehow, still making profits?:rotfl:
This brings me to mentioning the Ant and Dec ad. I hear numerous times each time I'm in M. The question is asked "...so why would you shop anywhere else?" To which my answer - and first point is they don't expect anyone to have an answer to the question or indeed to have any thought or come up with any well-thought-out and rational reason why. My answer: "Because M might be cheaper and therefore I will get no match points back at all on my shopping so will end up paying the M price with nothing of value back. Therefore it would be best to shop in T or A and use their price schemes, getting cond. spends off or 10% cheaper (hopefully) than you!"
Plus the fact there might be glitches elsewhere (some vs M), which might save even more and end up costing me far less than spending money, and being given no Match points, in M. Now, when they promise to be cheaper than themselves and give Match points for that, then I might consider buying in M items that are cheaper on M's shelf pricing!:D But, again, that's too deep for the vast majority of the public to process, so they stick with the simple and are, presumably, persuaded that they don't have to shop elsewhere and, indeed, can "just put their feet up" (indeed the ads, not just of M but similar things elsewhere, not merely reinforce that but more or less expressly say as much) and - I suspect this is the bit that doesn't hit the general public, who are way less intelligent than me and don't give much, if any, thought to these things - spend way over the odds on items that randomly happen to be non-comparable (being generally unaware of lowest prices on similar products elsewhere) and lose points (and therefore redemption money) by buying cheaper M items in the same shopping every time. When they do get a few pence or a pound or two of points back, it's a much rarer event for people generally I suspect, that they feel "lucky", doubtless giving them a positive view of the store - and of course they are caught into shopping there again and having to do so to redeem any points that they have got.
Nextly, I note, probably not the first time, that A promise to be 10% cheaper than the four major supermarket competitors. However, they do not promise to be 10% cheaper than themselves, so it makes more sense to buy elsewhere when A are actually cheaper on their own store prices:rotfl:. So, I do my T, S, M and W shopping in A, but my A shopping elsewhere:rotfl::rotfl:!
Of course, none of the public generally think this way and that's why the solution suggested by the financial people to falling market share etc. is that you cut your own prices in order to attract people to shop with you! And, by and large, most people would! So, it works! Meanwhile, I'm these days repelled by price cuts and shop elsewhere, whilst being attracted by tactically purchasing more expensive items. I'm the one that's surely saving money, whilst the rest of the public generally believe themselves to be doing so (as usual, incorrectly).0 -
Post a link to it mooomin and I will have a look“Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?”

Not at all. This is a very fast thread though and very difficult to keep up with.
It's like jumping on and off a speeding train!
Just busy in RL I believe, as happens to us all, all too often.
