Quick question about an ebay deal gone bad

Your options with the current sale are:
 NPB and risk him paying.
Ask for a cancellation and risk him saying no.
Don't cancel and just back out of the sale and lose your FVFs.
If you want the money quick, Ebay is not the venue.
Why won't you post it with your courier in exchange for a Paypal payment?0

I doubt he read your unenforceable terms. He probably, wrongly, assumed that now you were offering it via eBay you would accept PayPal. Or he suddenly realised that he got no protection via eBay for bank transfer and changed his mind (again). At the end of the day, I merely offered him the option of bidding for the item on ebay (making it clear in doing so that he would still need to use bank transfer). It was his decision to put the best offer in, not mine.0

Because I don't like paypal and don't trust paypal. My brother used to sell on eBay and had his account blocked with almost £2000 in it and he couldn't withdraw the money for 6 months. I can't afford to be waiting 6 months if they decide to block my account, which is why I've never sold on ebay before, and thanks to this experience, I won't be using ebay again.0

You're probably right, but that doesn't make this my fault which is what it feels like with everyone ganging up on me on here!!0

PayPal don't block accounts and funds for no reason, despite what your brother or anyone else claims. I have £15k+ go through PayPal every month and have never had a problem.Because I don't like paypal and don't trust paypal. It sounds like you both misunderstood how eBay works so nobody is really to blame per se.You're probably right, but that doesn't make this my fault which is what it feels like with everyone ganging up on me on here!!0

Look at it from another point of view though. You are unhappy that buyer wouldn't abide by your rules, yet you are expecting not to abide by eBay rules.
From an outsiders point of view you gave up trying to sell on a site that gave you control as a seller and instead decided to use eBay where the control favours the buyer, and not only that you sign posted your buyer to your eBay sale.
PayPal is perfectly safe if you understand it, I sell around 300 items a month all paid for by PayPal but I do make sure I follow the rules for seller protection, or understand the risk I take if I personally choose to give up my seller protection.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. If I had spoken to the person on the phone, and had their address details in the event I needed to file a court claim or report to the police, yes. I also offered to send the buyer a copy of a utility bill to prove my address, but its a moot point now, I've given up.0

But how would you know that was their real name and address?
I have friends that work away a lot and we have keys in case of emergencies.
Not unknown for people to rent a property and run up huge bills and have lots of stuff delivered then when the bills are not paid the property is empty.
Names all fake, No trace at all.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
