Non delivery of parcel from SPORTSDIRECT - HELP

Hi,
I placed an order with sportsdirect for a pair of trainers - i placed this order on the 28th October 2014, however after waiting 3 weeks i contacted sportsdirect via their website asking whether they could tell me when my goods were due to be delivered. They emailed back a link to track my parcel. I opened the link and it was YODEL and it stated that it had been delivered on the 30th October 2014 to my neighbour.
So i knocked on my neighbours door and asked whether they had my parcel - they denied this (they are new neighbour recently moved in). So i contacted sportsdirect again and they stated there was nothing they could do as it had been signed for by my neighbour and i would not be reimbursed or have it re-sent.
Long and short of it is - YODEL delivered to my neighbours when the flat was empty - i remember seeing a parcel outside their door under their mat, however i didn't look because a) its not my property and b)i did not receive a calling card to say a delivery had been made. So the long and short of it my parcel has been stolen.
I have been emailing sportsdirect everyday to have my money credited back to me but they state its a police issue as in their eyes a neighbour has signed for it. Basically washed their hands of it.
I have emailed YODEL about my parcel through their website - 4 times - and i have not even been acknowledged. Surely sportsdirect should be investigating this as its down to them?
I actually wonder what happened to 'the customer is always right' considering when i told Sportsdirect the flat was empty when they delivered i was told 'we only have your word for that'!! Very angry! Anyone have any ideas where i can go from here? All i want is my money back!

yodel failed. they did not delivery it to the address on the package.
NO PARCEL has been delivered to your address.
YOU have not had a delivery
ask for proof of delivery at YOUR address/
you gave your address to sportsdirect , not any other address in the UK.
ask , NO TELL them that they have not delivered to the address on your order and to now do this or issue a refund0 -
Send Sports Direct a letter before action.
In it state:
1) the problem - they have not delivered the goods you ordered.
2) what you want to happen and when - they deliver the goods within 14 days from the date of your letter.
3) what will happen if they don't do this - you will not hesitate to start a small claims court case to recover your money.
See this CAB webpage about an LBA.
Whilst waiting for their response, start reading MSE's Small Claims Court article.0 -
I actually wonder what happened to 'the customer is always right'
Because most of the time the customer isn't always right. Even more so the customers that use that phrase.
Back to your situation - good advice from enfield freddy/wealdroam
How did you pay for the goods? Im presuming debit card and the cost was under £100? If so, contact your bank and ask for a chargeback. More details on chargeback on the link below.

As you've had no luck with SportsDirect - I would go along the chargeback route.0 -
I know someone who had the same issue with a phone being delivered to the wrong house (by Yodel) and they managed to have a replacement sent out from O2 after Yodel admitted liability. Keep fighting! They are rated one of the worst delivery companies!!
They even left my PS3 outside on my doorstep when trying to 'deliver!'0
