Those who don't like the idea of using Facebook, why don't we create an online petition? Then I can propagate the news to Reddit and we could potentially have millions of signatures. Reddit is very anti - facebook.
Feel free to PM if you want to stay anonymous.0 -
crowdflower - fisher investment - tweet task bonus are getting sorted out on wednesday0

How do you all manage to boost your referrals? I have two on clixsence and two on neobux, but all seem to have given up. I don't have any friends who do this kind of thing, so I feel a bit stuck. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Well, it's happened. I logged in ok through Facebook, however, for some reason I got logged out and now can't get back in even though I'm logged into Facebook. I get the following message.
"A Facebook account is required to perform tasks on CrowdFlower."
Whatever I do I end up in the same place. Is anybody else having problems, I can't get into any tasks at this moment.
Update
All sorted, I got back in after about 5 minutes, there must have been a glitch. This highlights an issue because there was no way of alerting Crowdflower of the issue as it was impossible to lodge a ticket or report the problem.
I have left the post up for reference, I'm sure that others will have had the same problem.0 -
I just tried to log in with my facebook account and I'm getting this as a message:
"We're sorry, but something went wrong."
What is going on? Has anyone managed to log in with FB successfully? My friend is also having the same thing happen to her. I'm not happy either that CF is now linked to FB, I don't want the two linked.0 -

See above, I got in okay, hit the problem outlined in my post above and am now back in. I got the "something went wrong" message to begin with but I tried again and it cleared.0 -
Yeah I'm in now as well thanks John.
Just on FB now adjusting CF related posts to private. Don't need my family and friends getting a lot of crap in their feeds.0 -

I know because this happened to me recently. I annoyed someone online, with my own opinion, and they reported me. I was locked out of my account, which is linked to a business account, and it took 24 hours to get it all sorted (I was using my real name).
Why are people so worried about granting access to their Facebook account? I've granted it to 100s of websites in the last few years and I've never had my information harvested anymore than joining any spammy GPT offers.
Should anyone want to make a fake Facebook account you can just get an email address with Gmail, or any other free company, and sign up. Make your name, submit your email and that is about it. You put in a Birthday and a few other bits of information, make sure you write them down if you are going to make a fake one, but be aware that Crowdflower likely already know the name that you've been using and might match that up?
My problem is not a privacy concern. My problem with this is the fact that I hate facebook and too had someone report me and I lost access to my account. No, I did not get it back. I couldn't even verify through my cellphone because it wasn't on a non-prepaid plan. So I said sayonara facebook and never looked back. That site was a complete waste of time to begin with.
My problem with Crowdflower is expecting their longtime users to require using a facebook account - most of which some may not even have - in order to log in to an account they've had for more than five years. It's absurd, totally out of line, and I refuse to give in to this social media peer pressure just to continue working on tasks that pay me 7-8 cents a piece. No, thank you.
If people were smart, even the ones who have facebook accounts, they would boycott Crowdflower to begin with for allowing such a stupid decision. Think about it. Why exactly all of a sudden is it necessary to have a facebook account to work on tasks that you otherwise do anonymously? Somethings up alright and I don't like it one bit. After all, this is the company that left a public forum such as getSatisfaction in order to implement their own support system. Why? So they could get rid of all the public complaints about how screwy their system is to begin with. Now they're screwing with us again. Don't fall for it. If nobody is working on tasks because they're not logging in with facebook. Then they'll know people are mad as hell over this decision their members had absolutely no say in. Only my two cents, but at least I'm honest.0 -
I do agree with it being annoying to have to use Facebook, was just curious what it is that people were worried about. More curiosity than anything else.
I don't think it is smart to boycott the tasks so we can just agree to disagree on thatThere are plenty of Indians, and members of other poorer countries, just waiting to get access to the tasks when they aren't fulfilled properly by people in the UK/USA other English speaking countries. It may be a case of biting the hand that feeds you, for some at least.
I personally task maybe 5 tasks a week now, just the survey ones that pay decent money, or any other relatively high paying ones that come up, which is rare of course. I'll just stick to doing that as I've moved on from working like a dog all day/night for just a couple of dollars - thankfully. That isn't meant offensively to anyone here who still puts the effort in, it is commendable really.
I don't mind granting access to my Facebook as I have an account I use for business purposes that doesn't have access to anything that they'd really be interested in if they are harvesting information. I'd suggest using a fake account if you're worried but still need the money from taskingThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. Quite surprised to see the Facebook log in thing has started, as I've been tasking for the last half hour on NeoBux using the normal log-ins....maybe they are lagging behindThis is a system account and does not represent a real person.
