The salient point being a small number of high value notes is likely the lowest risk for the OP.

Indeed, when I worked for NatWest in my student days (south of the border) I wouldn't have batted an eyelid at them. My comment was more in reference to spending them directly in shops; many retailers are quite ignorant of the fact that they are perfectly acceptable and can be banked without issue.43580 -
I'd love to know how you think the bank transfer could be reversed. Once the money has been transferred, its done. Obviously make sure it shows up in your account first before releasing the car.
As an example, you hear stories of lots of people sending money to people only to find they have mistyped a digit and then can't get their money back. If it were easy, why can't they just 'reverse' the transfer.0
