Gosh I haven't seen that site mentioned for years, I think most. People got a bit embarrassed by some of the things people do and still try and blame PayPal.

Anyway, OP has posted this on the eBay board as well, but then logged out and has not responded further , I'll see if I can get this thread moved to the eBay board and merged.

OP has cross posted this so I will try and get one of the threads moved so they can be merged. They also logged out immediately after posting.

  • Also never accept paypal for a collection.

The buyer can easily say they havent received the item and as you have no tracking info, the buyer will win and get their money back.

Another little scam which is quite common.

This is a current scam & you should only post to the address given by Paypal
Buyer wants to change the address, they'll need to re-pay.

Upload the tracking number & if the addresses are near [same town], you might get lucky with Paypal covering your mistake.
  • You didn't by any chance activate find my iPhone? If you did you could try to trace it.

A buyer recently tried to persuade me to send to an alternative address after placing winning bid. I refused and got left bad feedback. But had the feedback removed once I'd explained to Ebay I'd have lost my Seller Protection (Ebay agreed).
  • Report it to these people: http://www.actionfraud.police.uk/report_fraud

I had people calling my house doing the Microsoft thing but they didn't hide their number. I called Action Fraud and reported it and a few months later got a letter saying someone had been prosecuted for it.

As you have a work address I would call the work address and find out if that person works there and then send them a letter before action to that address I would also do 192 checks to see if the person lives at the address on the Paypal account, you could send the Letter before Action there and take them to the small claims court and get the money back.
  • **just realised the home address could be the person of the stolen card**

Report it to the police using that link above, get a crime reference number, then send a letter before action to the address the phone was sent.

Court action won't work if these are career criminals. If they are even living at that address, a CCJ won't bother them and neither would bailiffs. OP would be lucky to get £1 per month back.

As OP has not come back since posting this I would caution regulars about spending too much time trying to help until we hear back from OP.
