If anyone decides to go for the Vue Cinema vouchers that are issued through Lloyds Club account may experience issues.

We decided to go to the cinema yesterday and see a film in Xtreme and were willing to pay for the upgrade. I presented two of these vouchers to the ticket seller and she immediately said you can not use them other than for standard 2d films. I referred her to the terms and conditions on the ticket and she stated they are incorrect and refused us admission.

I then saw the manager and he reiterated what i was previously advised. I then told him to read the terms and conditions on the voucher. With that the ticket seller got very annoyed and shouted across they cannot be used.

However it clearly states they can be used. The manager said he would need to report it to his head office and on this occasion would allow us to upgrade.

Well if anyone else has problems regarding these vouchers do stand your ground and refer the staff to the terms and conditions.

In the end we felt as though we are trying to get something for nothing.

We are staying with a friend in the West country at the moment and went to the Vue cinema in Plymouth.

I have put in a complaint and we will see what happens.

No id and should be straight forward. Anyway Lloyds have now got involved and are passing the details to the Vue rep.

    I will update the outcome.

And that is how it should be. Not made to feel embarrassed when all you want is a pleasant afternoon watching a film.

There's always strings attached to everything these days .Spoils it when you get aggro everytime you buy something, or,like you, just want to watch a film.
I'm lucky to have bad luck
I someone messed themselves, it would end up in my pants
    Good luck Mable;:)

    UPDATE.,

I have now heard from Lloyds Club and the complaint was passed to the Vue area manager who has arranged for everyone to be retrained to make sure the situation does not arise again. Also Lloyds are sending me a gift voucher.

Useful to know as I'll also be using mine in Devon (Exeter).
Are you for real? - Glass Half Empty??
    :coffee:
  • Well done Mable - I probably would've just given in if I was in that situation!

I read somewhere that you can just show the vouchers from your phone so just wondering if anyone has come across any problem without printing them?

The ticket seller said they had problems with these vouchers before.
She really chose the wrong person to pick upon and when I know I am in the right I will not budge until a satisfactory resolution has been reached.
  • I have just received 6 of these vouchers ( I asked for them on paper ) and not yet used one so it will be interesting to read if there are any further issues...
