£4.67 in Tesco today. Some good YSing....
Some great bargains there, Bobarella. What time of day is best to pick up the most YS items please? I know it varies from store to store, a friend gets her best reductions first thing in the mornings from, I think, Iceland.
No big supermarkets in my nearest town (about 5 miles away) only smallish Morrisons and Co-op, neither open 24 hours. Can't afford to keep popping in on the offchance as the petrol used would outweigh the savings if there isn't much there that I need. Ditto the bigger supermarkets in my next nearest town (15 miles away:eek:) but at least they have all the majors plus Lidl, Aldi, Iceland and now even a Netto. Can only afford to travel there occasionally so need to make it worth my while.
I visit my nearest small market just as they are packing up on a Saturday afternoon when they are practically giving away fruit and veg. A bit hit and miss what they've got left though but cheap mushrooms and cauliflowers are always in plentiful supply:rotfl:. Called in at Morrisons and Co-op straight afterwards about 3.30 and there were so few YS items available (and what was there were still expensive/not suitable) so I didn't bother.0 -
Was meant ot go to Christmas fair, budget £10, but the day got hijacked!
Mr T delivered £51 as planned, and we then had a fabulous day out, changed some too small trousers for baby clothes, and got £41 of YS and bargains in Mr T again. So total spend £92, I have updated signature.
Actually £7 of £41 was a gift and so I will take this off again.
Had a marvellous walk round a garden centre and they had made a real effort for the children with polar bears and a stunning display of trees. My birdss are now enjoying £1 of reduced meal worms and seeds.
Happy day and frugalish too.
Now to batch cook the purchases and freeze.0 -
