    Afternoon everyone

I have purchased the SBugs yearly delivery so normally get a delivery at the end of the week. I had approx £8 in nectar points to decided to go instore to see what yellow stickers I could find.

chicken fillets, gammon joint. fresh pork, sausages, sausage rolls...all reduced. Bought some of their basics toilet roll, few bananas, coffee, tin foil etc. Hair dye was on offer and I was going to purchase it at the start of next week so decided to buy today as the price was too good to miss.

Got to the till, all put through realised had not taken my Nectr card..could have cried. So had to pay it as the bargains were too good to leave behind. Got myself a 40p price match and will get the points added next time. Since no card with me no coupons popped out either. That will teach me to check my purse.
    Total spend...£36.32

    Poundstretcher...£2.47 on light bulbs

local shop spent £5.24 on reduced crisps ( in date until February, going to keep them for Christmas party), reduced biscuits, fresh doughnuts and some lovely coleslaw.

That is the purse closed. Hoping for my first NSD tomorrow :)

First day and it was a NSD
We have plenty of lo ham from yesterday's roast so tonight we are having it with mashed potato with onion in and some veg. Mum took a plate full home as well. It cost approx. £2 on offer and will do 6 meals plus sandwiches if not more. Bargain.

Thank you, wise friends! I accept your verdict and count the 8p as December spend. I also accept Lynnejk's suggestion of an extra day of NSDs, as penance LOL but also to push myself a little. Will adjust my sig accordingly.

December will be a difficult month, not only for Christmas but also because at some point we will have to go and meet DD, who is not coming home to celebrate with us (long and upsetting story that I shall spare you). This will mean a couple of days in a hotel and some extra spending, which is coming from our common family fund, but still an extra spend, even if necessary.

    Have a good day.
We have strange family situation for Chrissy also. DS1 hasn't spoken to us for 14 years and DS2 will be on his travels and hopes to be in Bali for Christmas and New Year. My DSD has her mum and all that side of the family visit for Christmas so house is stuffed so we usually go over the weekend afterwards (kids pressies monies already sent)

So this weekend we decided to look at eating out Christmas Day and I have just booked it and paid for it. So that will be covered by my Morry's card money and drink comes out of separate budget anyway.

So a lovely Christmas present to myself - I don't have to shop, prep and cook Christmas dinner or even washup :j :T :j

I've had a NSD today. Hope you all have a terrific Tuesday

  • Yesterday my roast pheasant went pear shaped, it was supposed to be a cheap buy but I ended up with a damaged one and to top if off bodged up cooking it so only DH got meat with his roast. I have a handful of meat left (after making stock) for the soup tonight. The lovely company I bought it from have refunded (I think, can't check till end of the month) and added a free one to my order.

Soooo please can someone tell me how to roast a 600g pheasant please, cooking it for an hour at 190 (in a foil tent) was not long enough and all the online recipes say to cook for even less time.

Had to return moldy cheese today, the lady gave me a gift voucher with an extra £2 on it so had £3.50 off my shopping today ^_^

    01/12/14 £8.05 after voucher

Tomorrow Asda Delivery so not NSD officially though I shall not be going to the shops, hopefully an NSD on Weds *fingers crossed.
Stay at home Mum to DS Oct 2011 and DD Dec 2013

Hi mr planky:hello: . Wine mmmm. I have cut down to 2 bottles a month  Everyone on this thread has been really nice and supportive so you will be fine :)

Thank you for the warm welcome!

If I could cut down to 2 bottles a month that would be a minor miracle (ok, perhaps more like a major miracle!). However, I have found a bottle in Asda for £3.50 which I actually really like and we've cut down a lot which will help with our shopping costs.

I think the cheaper wines at asd* and tesc* can sometimes be better than the more expensive ones. I'm not a wine snob as long as it tastes good I will drink it whatever price ( sound like an alcoholic I'm not honestly:rotfl:)
