Flight Delay Questions

Options
Hello,

I was delayed with Easyjet just over a month ago. It was a 4 hour and 5 minute delay, and the journey distance was 713km. We were 2 adult passengers and a baby 1 year old baby who sat on my lap during the flight. I also incurred an £85 taxi fair due to the late arrival of the flight (23.20) and living in the middle of the countryside.

I have been told by Easyjet after I claimed for compensation that €500 compensation was due for the two adult passengers, but nothing for my baby. They have also not offered to refund the taxi fair. I wanted to check whether that is correct or whether they should also pay compensation for the baby and/or the taxi ride?

Many thanks
R

Should be on easyJet thread. Quick answer .... did you pay anything for the baby travel? Taxi fare your problem.

You could possibly take them to court over the £85 taxi fare, it would be a claim for damages under the Montreal Convention.

I don't know of anyone else that has done this, just that it's technically possible.

Read the Reg, ALL FARE PAYING PASSENGERS are entitled to claim. That includes babies if it's a 'fare'. But to resolve it, you'll probably have to take them to court.

That's what the airlines want to argue. But someone on here took it to court - and reported the case comprehensively. It was at County Court (so no precedent) but the judge ruled that the £30 or whatever charged for an infant was a fare and not an admin charge.
